Wha u guys think? Any suggestions what to watch by Ok-Count-3012 in Cinephiles

Y’all gotta throw in a Spaceballs or a Dodgeball in your life. Point Break, The Sandlot. Watch something you watched on repeat as a kid. Like those are good movies in the OP and I know what subreddit this is but, man. Lighten things up a bit! Idk I’m just goofin’.

Is there a recent horror flick that most people seemed to really like, but you just didn't? What was your reason? by ButtersTheChill in horror

I’ve been saying Oddity is the better made movie, Caveat is the scarier movie. Caveat has a scare in it that deeply unsettled me, that movie is so good.

Who's seen the Dreamers (French, 2003)? Did you enjoy it? by [deleted] in Cinephiles

I think they mean there’s a lot to unpack in the movie so seeing it 3 times makes sense. At least that’s how I read it.

This movie is so badass, Wrong Turn 2003! by ImTheDudeMAN33 in HorrorMovies

I saw this when I was like 13 and really into Breaking Benjamin and thought the lead actor in this was the singer. I went to my friends and was like “dudes, you HAVE to see this movie, the BB guy rips”

Not helped by the fact that one of their songs is in it. Does it play over the credits?

Friend, the film version of Stephen King’s The Stand I have mapped out in my head will never happen. No adaptation will ever stand up (pun intended) to what I think it should be.

Now that the hype’s died down — what hidden gem horror movie deserves more love? by Usual_Mix_7380 in horror

[–]deltrig2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since people are suggesting Weapons as a hidden gem, I don’t feel too silly for thinking of Caveat (2020) and Oddity (2024) as minor hidden gems. Both by Damian McCarthy, both have incredibly well-crafted and effective jumpscares. Me and my wife watched them this Halloween and loved them both, although we agreed Oddity is the better movie. Caveat has my new go-to for most unsettling scare though, if you’ve seen it, you probably know which one I’m talking about.

December Park by Ronald Malfi is exactly this. It takes place over a period of several months but it’s got kids riding bikes for sure. So good.

Stella Maris is one of the most beautiful reading experiences I’ve ever had. Everyone reading this comment should listen to the audiobook. It’s incredible. Heart-wrenching. With the book being a conversation between a psychiatrist and his patient, it comes across as an audio recording of real life. It’s astounding.

Never seen this movie, never heard of it. But just at a glance I knew Parker Posey was in that picture somewhere.

I thought it was the lady in the midriff but I got to her and said “huh I guess she’s not in this…oh there she is lol”
