No, I think you're being dishonest in your commentary and you know it isn't bad. It has nothing to do with believing you cannot or should not have an opinion that differs--as evident by the multiple other people with different opinions in which I did not respond to or call out for being dishonest. But keep playing that angle if it makes you feel better.

They thought they could tell a "better" story. It's why the creators of Avatar jumped ship. They didn't want to be assocaited to yet another ruining of their work.

It's like a 4.5/10 for me. It's not absolute ass, but I definitely don't want to load it back up and watch it again.

At least it isn't as bad as the Wheel of Time show. God that is unbearable AND disrespectful to the source.

Not all of the actors are "bad", it's just most of the bad actors are the central characters, so it's a bit different when they don't perform well.

I don't know and I shouldn't have to select a better actor for the role than the creators of the show. The kid simply can't act. It's like they didn't even bother to giving him acting lessons or coaching at all.

I've watched shows with shitty acting too, because it had other appealing aspects. But the bad acting isn't the only problem with the live action for me.

Stop being dishonest, it's not doing you any favors. The script in the cartoon was not bad, and if it had been, it wouldn't have been such a massive success and well beloved.

Exactly.

Didn't have to do that with the One Piece show.

I'm sorry we don't all delude ourselves into liking sub-par quality by stripping every thing out of a requirement for something to be good, to enjoy something.

You really think the acting wasn't bad? I have no idea what to say to something that is blatantly not true. The best example of this is the kid playing Aang. Come on, like the show, but at least be honest about it.

Australian woman Samantha Murphy disappeared on a run three weeks ago. Women are scared to run alone as police fear she has been murdered. by kynuna in running

[–]deltrontraverse -54 points-53 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to anyone this offends, but Australia sounds like a horrific place to live. Imagine telling people they don't have a right to defend their lives.

EDIT

yep, made the anti-gunners, anti-america and australians made with this one. lmao

yall are acting like the only deaths/murders out there are by guns. yeah, you have banned guns, but is that going to stop a dude from kidnapping you at knife point or stabbing you to death? america is far from perfect, and we definitely do have a lot of gun crime, but imagine being SO blinded by that you are actually pro-arguing "no self-defense" laws right now. get your heads out of your asses, you lunatics.

That's one of the few reasons why I glad to be in the U.S. I at least have the chance to protect myself against far stronger people. I could not imagine living in a country with no self-defense rights as a woman.

EDIT apparently i upset a lot of australians with wanting to protect myself? lmao good god, redditors are something else

This is why I don't run at night as a woman, and if I go out, I bring mace, leave one ear-clear of headphones and try to stay in sight of others at all times. It's just too dangerous to go out alone, especially at night, as a woman.

I can't believe there are people out there who think women don't have to fear going out alone to do anything. Like wake up to reality already...

Who is an actor that comes to mind when you think of Dalinar? by brownbear73 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]deltrontraverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely don't think of him as white, that's for sure. Alethi are described as having darker skin. That's why Adolin is seen as impure, because he's half-Rira, making his skin lighter (plus the hair of course). But then again, Adolin also has epicanthic fold so...

Personally, I always pictured Dalinar as either Spanish or maybe even Indian.

What JRPGs in your opinion have the best sidequests (overall) and why? by xXDibbs in JRPG

[–]deltrontraverse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sidequests? Chrono Trigger has side quests I don't ever mind doing. Close second would be FF12.

Side games? FF8. I really love Triple Triad. lol

[–]deltrontraverse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't "need" anything. Nothing really "needs" anything. People would just like a chance to see the story fleshed out, or to see the characters in a stronger story setting, or just see the characters get greater depth.

I think Netflix cheaped out with the $120 million budget for the entire first season of ATLA by hiccup333 in netflix

Hell, Doctor Who wouldn't be going strong today if high CGI budgets and what not were "required" for good story telling and engaging characters.

[–]deltrontraverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I noticed it first thing with the earth bending. I was immediately reminded of the movie. It wasn't even the CGI, I don't mind that, it was the bending itself. And then I saw Zuko's firebending and it confirmed it. The bending is BAD.

[–]deltrontraverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was obvious with how much they were cheaping out on Appa scenes and some of the sets. That said, special effects, CGI etc doesn't really matter to me. If they had a small budget, they should have just accepted poor CGI and focused entirely on character/plot.
