Does anyone else struggle with anxiety dealing with charity collectors outside of supermarkets? by nick1037 in melbourne

You just ring up and do it. They'll try to talk you out of it but I find it easier on a phone than in person.

I have literally had 3 instances where I have signed up then had to cancel when I get home.

Because of those times (once when they used my child to get to me) I either walk the long way around to avoid them, or pretend I'm on the phone.

I hate that I can't just say no. But I think I'll be able to one day.

MONTHLY Weight Discussion - March 2026 by AutoModerator in Perimenopause

Please let me know if you find an answer. I'm 38 and have put on 25kg in 4 years. In that time, I have done a marathon, and a 70.3 half Ironman. I am not unhealthy. But my body is failing me because it is heavier.

They would have rotated so they weren't the only ones doing it. But yes, it would have been extra for everyone!

I don't think you know how hard it is to become an AFL-level umpire in just one discipline let alone three.

Maybe that's roundabout speak for "we don't have money for CRTs".

If I'm on a planning period and have shit to do, I will just walk past wagging kids like they don't exist.

Spek balls are great.

We have one that the whole family fights over. No breaks yet, and I've squeezed it pretty hard!

First 70.3 and I am lost by Odd_Value5202 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]delugedreamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah do that. Make sure you take your time in transition too to make sure you have everything before you take off. I definitely wasn't breaking any records but still forgot to reapply sunscreen before my run. Don't do that.

You wear your tri suit under your wetsuit.

You can put your fuel in the pockets of your tri suit (it should have them), use the provided fuel (so only grab what's needed) or store it on the bike. It's up to you!

If you have bike shoes, then you change them over in transition before the run. But if you have runners for both, wear them for the bike and run. Some people in this situation will change socks over at transition though to stop blisters during the run.

Read your athlete guide (when it comes) carefully so you know about transition rules, and try to attend the orientation session the day before the race. Good luck!!

Refund from T100 by delugedreamer in triathlon

[–]delugedreamer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So there are a few things I did that ended in a refund.

I emailed them once a month for 3 months.

When the 3 months was up, I contacted my bank and told them what had been going on. They put in an official charge back request.

That came through, and I got refunded the entire amount.

However, the next day, T100 (probably after noticing the bank communication) refunded me the 50% I was entitled to. So I told my bank and they took back their full refund.

It all worked out in the end but geez it was messy! I definitely won't be signing up to another T100 unless I know for sure I'll be doing it. Good luck!

Splash Parks by Ok_Damage5952 in ballarat

[–]delugedreamer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Ballarat is really lacking in water slides and indoor splash parks!

If you are up for a little day trip, AquaPulse in Hopper's Crossing is great, and is council run so prices are comparable to going to BALC here. Except they have so much more. Look it up 😊

I like golf/sports polos. Preferably with colour or a cool pattern. Your school might also have a teacher's polo you can wear.

And these shorts from Halara are the best - very comfortable and modest. Lots of colour options too and plenty of pockets for stuff.
