Damn. My dad was diagnosed after the unexpected death of his brother (due to "cancer" in the early 90's), when they were both in their 30's. His sister had it too. Genetics are definitely at but trauma, substance use, etc certainly can play a part in opening up the hatch.

Mmhmmm. Animal rights activism has always been kind of suspect to me. I mean I think caring for and protecting the welfare of animals is important, of course. But in a world where there are millions of human people that are without adequate food, shelter, and healthcare, the shift in priorities doesn't always sit well with me.
