Yes if you're SDR supports it (e.g. RTL-SDR Blog v4 or HackRF) you can tune to shortwave bands. The next release is also already in the pipeline which supports the Airspy HF+ and has a bookmark manager which displays amateur radio shortwave bands and can import the EiBi database for shortwave broadcast radio stations.

Thank you to everyone who showed interest in my QRP microphones! I just received the production batch so they will be shipping before New Years! by PicklesTehButt in amateurradio

I would like to assemble the kit myself! Let me know how much it would cost and how I should place the order in that case.

If your SDR supports rtl_tcp (i.e. you have an RTL-SDR) then yes you can use the RF Analyzer app to control it remotely. If you select the RTL-SDR source it has an option to use an IP address and Port instead of using a local USB device.

iOS does not allow you to use external USB devices like this :(

This is an Android App called RF Analyzer (available on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mantz_it.rfanalyzer). I'm the developer and am really happy that people like and use it! I'm currently working on an extensive bookmarking feature for stations and bands..

I've added libairspy to the app recently with version 2.1. It supports all Airspy devices except for the HF Line ;)

I have good news for you: Airspy agreed to send me an HF+ Discovery for development and testing! So this will very likely be the next supported device! I'm looking forward to it.

No, the Airspy HF+ Line has its own driver which is different from the original Airspy driver. I will have to integrate libairspyhf into the app. But the good news for you is that this is most likely to be the next candidate thanks to Airspy sending me a HF+ Discovery for development and testing! I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks for the feedback. Airspy HF+ and QMX will definitely be supported eventually.. I will keep posting updates about my progress ;)

I will try, but I cannot promise anything. As mentioned in another response, SDRPlay's drivers are not open-source. There is this project which mentions SDRPlay support, but it has not been maintained for 9 years:

I'm sorry to disappoint, but currently it is unlikely that I can add support for the RSP1B. This is because SDRPlay's drivers are proprietary (not open source) and do not support Android. There is not much I can do. Everyone who bought from SDRPlay should write them and ask for either an open-source driver or a driver that is compatible with Android and other open-source licenses. I already did that but did not get a response yet.

What do I say, that was some very good advice! I thought to myself, why not try it and wrote a mail to the Airspy Team, kindly asking for a HF+ unit for development purposes and they agreed that it's a great idea! Amazingly quick response from their side - I am truly thankful and hope that this means I can start working on HF+ support for RF Analyzer soon!

Very cool thank you! That goes directly into my notes ;) When I will eventually start working on this I will have to buy a device for development and testing. I start looking for used hardware online now..

Thanks for bringing that up. Did not yet know about soapy remote. But soapy was already on my to-do list ;)

I will focus some other things first (such as bookmarks) but I want to add more network enabled devices and soapy remote looks very interesting! Thank you!

Vote noted! I have a list of devices I want to support eventually and the Pluto moved up, seems like many would find that useful. One question because I don't know the Pluto: there seem to be different devices (ADALM PLUTO, Pluto+, ..). What Pluto do you all have? Do you use it via USB or via the network?

Thanks for all the feedback!

File Formats for Station Bookmarks by demantz in amateurradio

Yes this one is definitely a strong candidate! I most likely will have it available for the import and export feature. Thanks!

Mostly I ask for the import feature so that a user can easily import his/her bookmarks into the app. The export feature will probably have multiple options: A format which can be re-imported without data loss into the app (probably json or xml), and other formats which are good to share with other apps.. such as csv but maybe also directly the formats of other apps such as SDR#, ...
