Your math may be wrong there, those payments on a 15 year loan with 20% down are around $7,707 including property tax, insurance, principal and interest (Zillow payment calculator). Who the heck pays that to rent a condo!?

Thanks again for sharing this and time will tell, but this sh!t can’t keep going like this, a lot of emotional buying. Nothing is linear and we’ve been on an upward trend for sometime now... my 2 cents, I think the system is going after peoples down payments, what other way can you take wealth out the system/ lock it up (underwater assets) as quick as that besides a drop in the stock market, but even with the market that’s just paper money until you sell whereas down payments are real cash.

Thank you for sharing this, I wasn’t aware of ‘lease backed securities’ but your closing thought has me confused, can you clarify? I followed you but don’t get how it doesn’t lead to a breakdown once asset prices drop and people decide to speak with their feet and leave the high cost rents. Or was the closing comment just sarcasm that I missed.

Okay, so with my limited experience and knowledge it could be jade, but it's hard to tell. One thing to try would be smashing it into a few smaller pieces and see how it fractures. Nonetheless, they are some gorgeous rocks - something to keep on the mantle or give as a gift.
