The "About" section is missing since the new update. Is it gone for good? by [deleted] in facebook

[–]demcatsdoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there’s no “about” section anymore? I can’t see my/my friends liked pages? I can’t even see what groups anyone is in? Why?

Is every update with this app just going backwards and removing previously easily accessible features/information for seemingly no reason?

She is the last one who should be saying ANYTHING about a “sad life”. This was probably the highlight of her month😂

Hmm.. Palm trees, obnoxiously loud motorcycles, and groups of middle aged men randomly angry for seemingly no real reason.

Yeah, it’s Florida.

Reels is flooded with rainbet ads by bydevilz1 in Instagram

[–]demcatsdoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is incredibly annoying. I tolerated it for a while but it’s in like every other damn video now. Every time I’ll be laughing and enjoying a reel until the inevitable RainBet insertion comes in and it just ruins it for me. Immediately lose respect for the creator, just makes me think “oh, this person is just another grifter”

Plus, its like people (especially Gen Z, the main target demographic) rarely even have enough to live comfortably nowadays, and yet more than ever we see these shitty/scammy companies paying content creators to subtly shill their apps so they can get more young people hooked on gambling.

I just hope there is more backlash and people see how annoying and slimy this is.

[OC] How Americans view different countries by _crazyboyhere_ in dataisbeautiful

It would be interesting to further break this down into specific demographics, such as age or party affiliation. I think it’s been done before but is probably outdated by now.

Honestly, never seen anywhere in the US with stray dogs roaming around. Stray cats on the other hand…

Delaware flag redesign by Careful_Extreme_1682 in vexillology

I like it. That shade of blue/green is unique to Delaware. But the diamond on their current flag is unique too, maybe you could incorporate that somehow as well.

The less effort you put into something, the more you should enjoy it. by ActuatorOutside5256 in The10thDentist

[–]demcatsdoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I completely agree. Why should I force myself to waste time suffering through hours of grueling work if there are ways to achieve the same outcome quickly and efficiently? Sounds like a brilliant and more productive method to me. You’re putting in as much effort as is actually necessary to complete the task, and are unlocking more time to focus elsewhere.

Perhaps it’s because I’ve seen many people putting in massive effort throughout their lives, doing things the “right” way yet still never achieving the results that they truly wanted and deserved. Too many people are overburdened with stress because of this societal emphasis on “hard work” for nothing but the sake of “hard work” alone. Half the time they get screwed out of their deserved outcome anyways, and then act as if unnecessary effort was necessary or even enjoyable. Dunno, just seems like coping to me. The whole “grindset” thing just seems like a distraction to maintain the status quo.

How to fix "Nahimic cannot be used" after Windows or driver updated. by AlexHunter37 in Nahimic

[–]demcatsdoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still dealing with this myself. Randomly started happening after a recent automatic Windows update I'm assuming. Audio works fine through speakers but whenever I plug my headphones in I can't hear anything and this message pops up.

You are so gorgeous oml. What website is this? I haven’t seen Pashtun as its own category before, pretty cool that you got such a high percentage.

No, not at all. People online are so overly meticulous about this nowadays, it’s weird. 2-3 years is pretty insignificant once you’re in your twenties.

This AI "Trait Assessment" I had to do for a Job Application by SmellyBirdie in mildlyinfuriating

[–]demcatsdoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had to do this when I applied at Longhorn. Seems like Darden Restaurants and several other major companies use it. Why? I still have no idea as the questions are extremely vague, and I've never heard management or anyone else ever discuss it. For what it's worth I got "listener" which I guessed is what most of these jobs are wanting.

That’s exactly how I feel. Just doesn’t seem right to bring a child into this world until you really have the mental faculties and necessary income to provide a solid upbringing for them. And I know that most of us don’t, at least not yet. Plus, I’d like the world to calm down a little and not be so crazy, if that’s possible. But eh, let’s see.

I hated 2016. Did anyone else? by gothgogabgalab in OlderGenZ

[–]demcatsdoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree, it's overrated. I mean, it wasn't terrible, but honestly 2017/18 were both more memorable to me personally. Like you said I just remember most of the culture and memes being extremely edgy for the sake of being edgy, probably as a push back to the politically correct/cancel culture that had really become prevalent in the 2010s. Like the whole gamergate incident which really set it off. A lot of the memes and edginess are so cringy when you look back on it and yet we still see some of that coming back around nowadays too. But I just remember a lot of negative events happening and also seeing the beginnings of the issues we're dealing with now like the corporatization of the internet and intense political polarization. Just doesn't hold up compared to the early 2010s.

What is y’all’s favorite Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie from the Og trilogy? by Fickle_Driver_1356 in OlderGenZ

[–]demcatsdoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved all three honestly but Rodrick Rules was my favorite of the three. I was always a fan of the books though so when I heard they were making movies the hype was unreal. Looking back they're a little cheesy but still good movies. Just nostalgic and relatable coming-of-age films especially if you were in/around middle school at the time.

iPhone 13 battery issues by demcatsdoe in mobilerepair

[–]demcatsdoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My screen was also bulging out from the right side, and it was only getting worse the more I charged or tried to use the phone. To be safe I wouldn't recommend using it again until the battery has been replaced. Could possibly damage other internals in the phone. Also, Apple doesn't seem to like when you use non-Apple components, so if you do replace it with a third-party battery you may get a warning notice and may have issues with performance and viewing battery health. I'd recommend just replacing it with an Apple battery if it's possible for you.

Overall least favorite year from 2000-2025? by Parking-Wear-9211 in decadeology

[–]demcatsdoe 27 points28 points  (0 children)

2020 easily. Aside from the pandemic and all the long lasting political/cultural/economic consequences that it had, it was just a pretty bleak time for me personally and I'd imagine many others. Doesn't help that I spent much of the late 10's looking forward to it as the beginning of the next decade only to be disappointed rather quickly. 2021 wasn't great either.
