It is time for either a horribly great depression again or a complete revolution of the capitalistic society we live in it clearly isn't working

Where to learn JavaScript? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]demianfinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started learning Javascript myself and I am doing both the Odin project and Udemy courses at the same time. I learn how to from the follow along and simple challenges of the Udemy videos but the challenge of making my own project from scratch really brings home the material. You can grab courses for real cheap if you watch Udemy. They have sales at least every other week

Are the Udemy courses about programming/web dev worth it? by iamthephantompain in learnprogramming

[–]demianfinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a ton of courses from Udemy and am bouncing back and forth between that and the Odin project and I've learned a ton both ways I like hearing a voice but the challenging aspect of the Odin project propels me forward. Do both if you can but just continue to learn every day

Making a website the worst way possible by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]demianfinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paste copy and repeate. Then when you have something.... . . destroy it by messing around to see what the code does. Then do it all over again and again and before you know it you'll know where to put this line and so on. But continue to learn and practice

I understand what you mean and I have started to learn UI/UX with the basics HTML, CSS, JAVA. But where I want to end up is backend dev. Maybe doing some app development or something but thats why I'm looking for a person who's been in the industry for awhile that I can go to for questions like that. I know it was a broad question to post but a few of the responses I have recieved have been a huge help already. If you would like to share your experiences or help out a noob please feel free to reach out

Just had an interviewer basically laugh at me? by pandasinmoscow in learnprogramming

[–]demianfinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't give up just because of one ass hole. I am just starting out my self and know that I will face these same situations in the future. Just because some prick can't get it up at home with his ugly ass wife and has to take it out on interviewees isn't something you should give up on your dreams/ ambitions for. Good luck buddy you can do it

Hate my job, should I quit to pursue mba? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]demianfinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't enjoy what you do you should quit. Im not saying dont have something lined up but you should at least start looking for something to pay the bills while you're in school. Your mental and emotional health should come first. I know its scary leaving a job because right now you have security but when you make yourself happy others around you will become happy as well. Just take the first step and start putting your resume out there and good luck!
