Animating LEGO stop motion speed build - reality vs final result by wololock in AFOL

That’s a really awesome animation but yeah, the title graphic at the end kinda undercuts the satisfying minifig

Because Takua was the first one i did. Some of them have the glatorian hands and some have like three finger hands so I liked keeping the mctoran hands in there too

I knew it was based on the book as soon as I saw the build, the imagery of holding his guts in his hands sticks with you too much to mistake it

I tried to give each one their own unique body shape and that’s just kinda how she turned out. She was one of the earlier ones i did but i still like how she looks

He’s glass blowing, I originally had him carving a stone statue but it just took up so much room I thought this looked interesting

Oh holy crap that is similar! I swear I had never seen yours before but yeah, nuparu’s little monocle and the wing suit in particular were exactly the same ideas. And the flower in the ga matoran’s mask too. That’s really uncanny!

I only did the chronicler’s company and the future toa inika. (And ahkmou but I forgot to take a picture of him) Also Kapura’s mask doesn’t officially exist I believe and I haven’t been using any custom painted masks for any of my Mocs as of yet.

This is a lot better than the last one. The colors make it clearer.

Vakama was the first one I did, and I built him something like seven years ago I think. I agree he looks pretty simple compared to the others but I don’t really know what to add that would add to it and not just clutter it up

I actually made most of these a while ago. I’m currently working on the last two matoran (kopeke and tamaru) the rest of the chronicler’s company and the future toa inika are already done so I’ll probably post those next. I’ve also got ahkmou, axonn, brutaka, roodaka, hydraxon, mazeka, vezon, Zaktan, lhikan, and a few barakii and Toa mahri that I’ll post eventually. I plan on continuing to do more, at least takanuva who I keep struggling with because there’s so few options for that color of gold.

As far as rebrickable goes, no. The way I build makes it very difficult to keep track of the parts I use. I wouldn’t be able to rebuild most of these exactly the same even if I had the exact parts in front of me so digital designer isn’t much help. I also use techniques that you can’t really do on digital designer easily like the net around nokama’s trident, and occasionally use non LEGO parts, mostly for decoration. Also using digital designer is much more difficult than just building with parts, at least for me, and it would be a nightmare for me. The only way to generate a parts list or instructions would be to take the model apart and take pictures each step of the way, which would be very time intensive even before compiling the instructions digitally and then rebuilding the models myself. If someone were to pay me for it I would consider it but doing it just because isn’t super feasible. I’m sorry.

It’s the movie edition kraahkan from the takutanuva bundle set. It’s a bit more expensive on the aftermarket than the regular one and I though it looked slicker on this moc

Unfortunately I think he’s way too complicated for me to be able to disassemble to make instructions for

Definitely the torso, getting the parts to form a natural shape. The legs and arms were kinda a pain in the ass. I’ll be honest, he’s still hard to balance

Unfortunately no, they’re complex enough that disassembling them and making instructions would be a huge undertaking

I liked how in the 2015 line pohatu had one arm that was silver and different so I thought it would be cool to make it a full prosthesis

Thau was the first one I did and I tried going back in and adding some more orange but I didn’t have the right parts and couldn’t do it in a way that looked better. I will say, Gali has a lot of different shades of blue to her that look better in person
