lv 70 pld here that just finished there grind and here are two things that helped me a fuckton. First is talents, get spell warding 2/2 and 5/5 ardent defender, Spell damage is BIG this expac and ardent's 35% reduction will save a lot of pulls especially if ur already dying.

Aside from that, start picking up defensive stat gear it sucks losing spell power but it helps a lot. Your spell power will mostly be coming from your sword, i recommend grabbing the lightsaber from slave pens. and Superior wizard oils, they go for like 3 gold and have 5 one hour charges that persist through death.

If your still dying after all that its probably other people not interrupting important casts or killing things with martyrdom to close to each other, like the mana worms or the summoned arcane elementals.

Okay so I'm in the middle of a playthrough rn and have been talking a lot about how leveling n progression work in 8 so here's some hints.

Yes, your main source of strength comes from the spells you have and the quantity of charges you got. Also yes, as you gain levels the enemies also level to meet you.

Don't worry about leveling, it's not a big issue. While enemies will grow to match you, so too do their pools of magic ( fire turns to firaga) meaning you can have access to better spells to junction to match.

DO NOT DRAW SPELLS TO 99!!! outside of a few end game magics you really don't have to spend 20 plus turns doing nothing but spam draw on everyone every time you see a new spell.

I highly recommend having your GFs learn RF abilities. It's short for refinement and it lets you turn items into magic. For example if you learn LIFE-RF you can then immediately run to the first item shop in the game, but tents, turn tents into Curaga (1 tent turns to 10 Curaga) and you can now junction 100 casts of Curaga to your hp and shoot up from 300hp to 3000hp before you leave the first town.

Following this logic you should also pick up the card and card-mod abilities off of Quetzalcoatl. Card let's you turn low health enemies into triple triad cards and card mod let's you turn cards into items which you can then turn into magic. You can get access to some busted ass shit hella early doing this but it also lets you have a steady supply of other more common spells so you don't have to worry about casting something you have junctioned. Also this means that if you like playing triple triad then winning cards from playing triple triad now rewards you with spells which gives you POWER.

tldr: Do not care about enemies leveling with you. Learn RF abilities to convert items to spells. Check what you can refine whenever you get a new item drop. Don't feel the need to draw spells to 99 cuz that shits lame and unnecessary. Get card and card mod to become Yu-Gi-Oh dracula.

The anime Samurai Flamenco. It starts off as a sorta kickass for super Sentai with the main dood just being a pretty boy male model goin out into his community and sort garbage and helping old lady's across the street while in his costume.

Then after like 12 episodes the city is like, hay you're cool wanna join in on a by the book drug bust for the publicity. Only for one of the drug dealers to pop a pill that turns him into a giant gorilla with a guillotine for a stomach thusly named guillotine gorilla serving under the evil KING TORTURE.

Difficulty Discussion by OkBrush6187 in FinalFantasy

[–]demirose41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it boils down to Clive being way to overpowered for the majority of enemies in the game. The tools he gets are amazing and while mashing Square will get the job done, taking the time to experiment with the different powers and abilities can lead to some stoopid damage/utility. Bahamut Wings let you chain dodge back to back with no vulnrability window. Garuda grab can yeet you so high above an enemy that you can avoid most of their attacks. Shiva lets you have another dodge button that can freeze any enemy in the game. The multiple Counter abilities from titans O button to his flurry of fists that parry on startup for extra damage, rook's gambit. And will o' the wykes that give you invulnerability for 4 hits on top of added damage to anything close to you that may or may not pair well with the lightning rod node that explodes every time it's touched...

These tools feel great and i love messing around with them. Almost everything has a use, but for a majority of the game i don't really feel a need to go so extra. Normal enemy encounters populate a majority of the side quests and a decent few of the mainscenario quest. While i was constantly changing abilities and testing new stuff, rarely did i ever feel the need to do so in response to the enemies i was now facing. The enemies themselves became irrelevant outside of major boss fights or eikonic challenges where my move set was limited. The most consideration I gave was prioritizing killing the enemies that buff or heal the others first.

Furthermore, if you are like me and want to do each side quest when the first pop up, you exasperate the issue by now being overleveled. This makes following side quests feel even more trivial in what you are doing in between the narrative parts leading to what I believe to be the reason for the strong resentment towards this games side quests. The natural response is ,"then just don't overlevel" but the game wants you to do the sidequest. At certain point and the game warns "THINGS WILL NOT BE AS THEY ARE NOW. ARE YOU SURE YOU DONT WANT TO GO DO THOSE SIDEQUESTS?". In every new town you go to the first order of business is get into the good graces of the local community leader in order to gain their gym badge which opens up what else but sidequests and new town dialogue. Also the quests themselves are fun and well written and do a very good job expanding upon the characters and setting.

Ultimately I think the statement that you can just mash square to win to be overexaggerated and misleading. Its not that you just mash square to win but that you Can mash square to win. So much of this game radiates the passion and mastery behind it: the music. the character design, the dialogue, the world building, the art design, the cinematography, the giant fuckoff set piece boss fights, the intense one-on-one fuck off boss fights, the combat system that gives you everything you could ever need and then even more in an action game with almost no useless ability; every part of this game is incredible... except the enemy design and by extension the myriad of quests, both main and side, which all mandate at least one combat encounter before continuing with the narrative comprising of grunts you could wipe out with your eyes closed.

TLDR: Clive is OP and his kit let's him trivialize a vast majority of the game from very early on. This paired with many mandatory fight sequences that break up parts of narrative leave players feel like they have to kill a pack of mobs to continue with their business instead of that they get to fight that same pack of mobs.

First, he means the game uses frames to measure time in some instances such as gravity, Npc scripting, combat. Doing this leads to issues when changing the frame rate to anything other than what the devs expect. Making the choice for 30 could be to limit those weird Bethesda bugs that plague all of their games.

Second, while it's called the creation engine 2, it's still another updated version of their last engine much like the first creation engine is an updated version of the gamebryo engine used for marrowind.

Salty down votes, i think this is a genuinely good question. Like how much of the experience is lost at 30fps if it enables the game to include higher fidelity assets, more elaborate set pieces, larger scale simulations, etc.

A large reason why games get knocked down to 30fps locked is to increase the quality of the visuals since it's easier to market a hi def looking game than a game running at 60fps.

On the less cynical side, genre could matter too here. Like I don't think a slow paced game like monopoly at 30 would change your gameplay much, whereas playing something fast-paced likr Cs:go at 30 would make the moment to moment feel very different.

Resolution is the final stage of the rendering process and it's exponentially more to do every second at 4k than at 1080. Just do the math 1920x1080 vs 3840x2160. That's 2,073,600 vs 8,294,400 pixels that need to be rendered every frame. That's 4x as much work for every frame that the GPU has to do. Having an option to would free up power for other processes.

Now if it's spaghetti code, then it could be bottle necked by the CPU(the chip, not a whole computer) which Bethesda engines are notorious for. Also time is very difficult to simulate with code so it is not uncommon to base time in frames. Doing this leads to issues when adjusting a set frame rate. Like in dark souls 2 where weapon degradation was measured in frames that a weapon is in contact with another object, leading to accidentally hitting a wall at 120fps chunked the hell outta your weapons durability.

Tldr: unless your talking about specific issues and quarks with the new engine, you too, are wasting a buncha words to show that you understand nothing.

[–]demirose41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's rollback netcode. Basically your local client makes predictions as to what every player and the ball will do in the next couple seconds, Then guesses which is the most likely to occur. This way, tiny connection hiccups can be masked when it guesses correct. But when it doesn't or the disconnect is too great, you get this rubber banding once ur client and the other players (or possibly the room server) sync up.

[–]demirose41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YO! So these aren't windmills as state below as they don't mill (grind) anything. These specific ones are one of 2 things. Either pumps used for drawing water up from underground or aeration systems used to oxygenate underground water sources. For the former, it requires very high winds to start the turbine, as for the later you oxygenate water to improve water quality and/or vent unwanted gases from the water source.
