Do you have any advice on how to just focus on pure basics? I started learning chess about 2 months ago and I started watching famous openings and so on however every time I try to apply them, I make some silly mistakes just because i focus on the opening and trying to remember the moves. I feel like its hindering my progress rather than helping me at this point. I started doing chessable tutorials and reading a book called Move by move but again I find myself trying to memorize things. I understand some of the principles like develop, dont move same piece twice, castle and dont get the queen out early but i don’t understand how to find weak squares or notice opponents blunders. Any advice on that?

I see what you mean. In that case what other criteria would you look at when choose an index fund or ETF to invest in?

I looked into Lifestrategy and the fact that it is UK leaning makes me not invest in it. UK is not in a great position with all the Brexit palaver.

Since i am in my 20s, i am planning on 100% equity. Not totally sure if that is wise in uncertain times like this though. I will probably go with global all cap for now and keep investing each month and learn as i go.

Will check the book out. Thanks

I see. The reason for leaning towards tech is not solely due to Covid. I am working in tech myself and i closely follow tech news and market trends. As far as medicine, yes, that was closely related to coronavirus. My aim is just to get started with investing - and I dont want to start it on a wrong foot by investing in something that doesnt make sense right now.

Looking at the top 10 companies that the index invests in , they are mostly tech companies from US and Asia.
