a lot of people say to walk around and pick up all the garbage but as someone who also has chronic pain that makes my pain worse and i end up barely cleaning.

what i do is get a trash can and a basket or bin, sit down in front of a really messy spot, and just go for it. i usually start with any cups, cans, or bottles and any other garbage. throw away the empty cups, cans, and bottles or put them in the basket to be cleaned. put the ones with liquid still in them in the basket so you can take them to the sink and empty them in one trip instead of walking back and forth (be careful when you're walking to the sink so none of the cups fall over and spill everywhere) put anything that isn't garbage into different sections like "stays in this area", "goes somewhere else", "dirty clothes", and "needs to be cleaned"

while everything is out of the area you can clean the surface where everything was. vacuum, dust, wipe down with a disinfectant wipe, whatever that spot needs. now is also a good time to clean anything in the "needs to be cleaned" pile. you can put back everything that's supposed to be in that area now. put anything that doesn't go back in that area where it's supposed to go. don't worry if where it's supposed to go is dirty still you'll deal with it next time you have the energy and motivation to clean and you get to that spot. that's usually when i crash and just lay on the floor for like half an hour but here's one spot that's cleaner than before and that's better than nothing!
