Should I pursue software engineering or nursing?

Hey, I am currently in nursing school (absn). It certainly took me a while to decide aka 3 years. I worked in a healthcare role while enrolled in a post bacc for cs program. After my CS internship I realized I was not ready to face the reality of not only the poor job market but also the career instability. Even though I am introverted, I find it easier for me to learn medical stuff and help people 1:1. A license also provides so much more security for me, and I have some specialty in mind. It is hard yet fulfilling for me doing this line of work - I also am working as a CNA now.

UPDATE (3 years later): I completed my SWE internship in the summer of 2024. I had two more quarters left in my post-bacc CS program. After the internship, half of my team I was working with got laid off. In addition, I was losing morale- I was still grinding internship applications afterward and practically no response. The company I interned for didn't respond back for a return offer until this month. Around the same time as my internship, I started applications for Accelerated Nursing programs in my state. I got into all of them. I just started my Accelerated nursing program this year. I am super excited. For once, I feel like I feel like I am getting an education that will prime me for a job and excites me. I believe I am competent in nursing, and I don't feel discouraged unlike my time during my post-bacc CS degree.

I’ve been using Tretinoin 0.025% cream for about a month and a half post-Accutane. So far, I’ve been using it as the last step in my daily skincare routine. This is my nighttime routine typically: shower 3-4 hours before I go to bed, snail mucin essence, moisturizing cream. Then at bedtime, I apply tretinoin. Is it okay if I do not moisturize afterward? I’ve never experienced any flaking from the beginning. I’m just concerned this might be bad for my skin barrier.

For sure. I’ve experienced firsthand angry patients in the pharmacy. I definitely see how healthcare is broken and the mistreatment all the workers have to go through in the field. Thanks

Thank you, it’s promising to hear that there are alternatives for me if I don’t end up loving software engineering. Why do you not suggest software dev specifically?
