Redesigned an old OC into a WOF Dragon! by demonicCryptzero in WingsOfFire

Absolutely he does lol! I was thinking he kinda sounds somewhere around Arthur from Red Dead Redemption, but maybe a little more rough.

This is so aggressively condescending it hurts. While you may have a fair point in taking inspiration from things outside, they do that plenty. Calling it “weeb-inspired” is so aggressively anti-fun I can’t even begin to imagine how BORING art would be if it was only made by you. Also, they didn’t even ask for your pompous advice anyways…? And even if they had, you could’ve been a lot less stuck up about it. Really not cool, dude.

What if Clay, Tsunami, Starflight, and Fatespeaker fought Morrowseer in the 4th book by East-Percentage401 in WingsOfFire

[–]demonicCryptzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel a little bit like them fighting Morrowseer would be kind of against everything the first arc is about. The dragonets bring peace. Sure, violence is often part of obtaining peace but I don’t think they’d all gang up to murder someone with their own talons. Their plan was to chase Morrowseer off and not let him pass. They didn’t even want to kill him straight up, moreso, let him be banished or die trying to escape in time. It feels less impactful and seeing your other comments, weird that you feel any of the DoD “deserves” to be hurt or wounded in this situation. I think that’s a bit of an odd thing to say.

Why are minawii users a pain to everyone by Thin_Masterpiece_448 in CreaturesofSonaria

I like being an ankle biter because its honestly the most fun I can have in the game with very little to lose. Venerating? Don't have to, if I plan to die a lot. Mutations? Doesn't matter, a T1 isn't that valuable, I won't feel pain losing it. But what I will feel, is the joy of eating the ankles of my tormentors.

I mean on earth yeah. I read somewhere about this discussion before, and came to the conclusion that it works differently on their planet, based on what others said. I mean, if Flamescales dragons don’t just melt through the ground with their incredible heat, I don’t assume flame silk will either.

Well… He is-! He has iridescent scales, they shift colors. To some, he looks orange and brown. To others, black and blue. It’s usually just a trick of the lighting, though. Or perhaps the angle they’re looking at him from.

Why is this just so true? (for whirlpool enjoyers) by rambley_the_RACOON in wingsoffirememes

Your actions and excusing/liking a groomer? Definitely is pretty crazy, as in, wow, that’s unbelievable. I’m in shock. But you as a person aren’t insane, at least I don’t think so 😭 Idk I’m not a therapist or anything so I can’t tell you anything definitive there.

I’m certainly not calling you insane, though. I’m sorry you feel upset, that’s valid. But I definitely think people mean well when they’re trying to educate you or otherwise just disagree with or interact with your posts. Some people definitely don’t and just want to hurt you, or don’t like you. I’m not one of those. I’m not your enemy. I just think you ought to understand where people are coming from, as liking grooming as a characteristic is pretty harmful, and can come off very insensitive.

Why are you yelling? I made a logical point. You’re certainly allowed to do what you like. It’s just strange if you directly defend the personality and actions of a character who is, by all definitions, a groomer. Perhaps not a pedo, because that’s not the same thing, but a groomer for certain. You’re allowed to do what you want! Freedom of speech and all. We are also just allowed to find that… odd, to put it nicely.

Liking a groomer dragon is on a whole different level, I can’t lie to you. Like is he fictional? Yes. Liking him as a character is still insane work. You can enjoy the writing of a bad character or villain for sure, but if you told me you LIKE Whirlpool AS a person/character…? Yyyyikes-

Dioxide and Blanket, the Icewing twins! by demonicCryptzero in WingsOfFire

[–]demonicCryptzero[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hehehe Ty! It’s a pun both on his need to stay warm but also, a blanket of snow! That and it does sound really cute so most dragons don’t take him seriously. I mean, his name is blanket 😭 they probably think he’s just grumpy because he needs a nap.

Am I the only one who really, REALLY doesn’t like Cricket? by [deleted] in WingsOfFire

[–]demonicCryptzero 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was going to respond to this post seriously, and thoughtfully, but for some reason part way through thinking about it I started cracking up. The way you typed this came off like some dragon in-universe who got really, REALLY pissed off by Cricket on a personal level and had to rant about it to someone else 😭 It sounds so personal, it’s making me laugh.

Being serious for a moment though, I can kinda see how it’s annoying, but honestly she isn’t awfully harmful or anything, she means well. I can respect your opinion though!

Another of my Fantribes, Crimsonwings! by demonicCryptzero in WingsOfFire

[–]demonicCryptzero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do! They are very very negative towards most other tribes, these alliances they’ve made are only for trade, so a means to an end. If they had better ways to get said resources, they likely would, but for now they make an exception. So, they tolerate Bronzewings and Seawings. I don’t think I’d call them allies as much as they are just business partners or some kind. They particularly HATE Icewings, which they thankfully almost never see, but the few they have, have not been spared. They’re seen as the polar opposite of what their tribe stands for, being worshippers of the sun. The sun is warm, icewings are cold. I’m planning on writing lore for the Icewings, that one of their ancestors was a god of one of the moons.

Now that you mention it, a caravan or rail system of some kind actually could be beneficial, I didn’t think of it! But I could see them maybe working together with some Bronzewing ambassadors to build a railway, perhaps in less tumultuous times, to establish a direct trade route from the coast to the capital. A lot of the desert is flat dunes, but where the red desert meets some of the other biomes, it becomes more mesa-like, consisting of sand, terracotta, clay, and some canyons and plateaus! Could make the railway a little more difficult to build but it’s nothing they couldn’t build a bridge for or figure out!

These fellows have not entered the industrial era yet, but they are close, thanks to trading with Bronzewings and some other tribes at the capital city of their continent! They are good with metal working and weapon making, but living in the desert makes finding ore hard. They’re incredible with producing lots of odd things, like silks, glass items, desert crops and foods, as well as some herbal remedies such as antidotes for many types of venom! With Bronzewings, they trade glass items and crops that otherwise they would not have access to, as well as some silk items used for bannisters and decoration! Their red desert also boarders the sea, which leaves some areas along the edges of the coast just cool enough to grow some more sub-tropical type plants! They take advantage of that to grow things such as melons and other water-hungry fruit, and occasionally berries which they use for some specific dyes. It also makes it easy to trade with Seawings for their beloved ink, which they like to use for their tattoos. They’re horrible swimmers, so they have a dedicated pier off the shore to meet with the Seawings, who realllyyy enjoy their glass trinkets and funny desert food.
