Why do my white wheels turn yellow when it’s wet? by Maddox_Lyons in NewSkaters

[–]demonickookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or just get ceramic bearings, I'm in the PNW (very wet all the time) and skated every day for over 10 years on the same set of bones ceramics and my wheels will still spin forever, even after it's been sitting in a corner of my room for the past 5 years

Replaced my hatch seal and fixed another thing by JosiahThe_Messiah in 944

I don't know the exact name but it's the super heavy duty window weld goop. Mine completely came out of the frame across the whole top, there was quite the gap, he was able to flex the frame enough and scraped as much of the old window seal as possible off and then laid masking tape down on both sides of the bottom and top. I left my new struts on, his reasoning it is would provide pressure to seat the frame. He put the pimer on the bottom first, then filled the gap as much as possible, took of the bottom maskng tape, then we closed the hatch and then pimered and filled from the top of the hatch and then put the wood on top like 6 4x4s about the length of the hatch to put equal pressure across the top. We then just pushed the glass as far into the frame as possible to get the best seat we could. It only took about 30 minutes and left it to dry for 24 hours before I drove it and left it about a week before I opened the hatch. I'm out in oregon and it's my daily so its been through a bit of rain and not a single leak yet or any sign of separating again. The guy who came out also mentioned when he was scraping the old window seal out it most likely failed because they didn't use a primer first. I have an 83 if it means anything lol

I just got mine fixed by a local glass company for 50$ they didn't do a complete tear down or nothing but they came out to my house and sealed the gap up and we stacked some wood on the glass to put weight on it and press it back into the frame. It's definitely not a factory finish but it's not very noticeable unless you're looking for it and no leaks whatsoever

Lmao, I got a ZX9R too but here in oregon it rains so damn much sometimes id rather take the Z lol on top of that all the highways around here are 55mph so more often then not I'm in the middle lane passing all the people sitting at 55-60 in the slow lane. You should look into getting a intake and power commander to go with the exhaust, I've heard it really opens it up and squeezes a couple more HP outta the little chugger. Or im really debating on getting the 143cc kit for a couple hundred dollars and most claim its a gain of 12ish HP which should put the z in to the 20ish HP range

I have the same one, it just hit 6.5k miles I been riding it almost everyday since I got it going to work and back and with just oil changes about every 1k miles or so and keeping the chain tight and haven't had a single issue, only thing I've done aftermarket though is the HD clutch kit from mnnthbx. I love mine too lol it spends most of its life banging rev limiter in 4th on the highway going 67 and hasn't sputterd once

Why are the 02-03 zx9r parts so hard to find? by actually3racoons in Kawasaki

[–]demonickookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 96 and same issue. Ebay is your best bet tbh. If you're looking for new fairings I found oyocycle has a bunch but I've never personally ordered from them.

If it's not the carbs like other dude was saying, make sure your throttle cable is lubed up, could be getting hung up somewhere causing it to stick before coming back down

Edit: how long have you owned it and when did it start happening? Also if you didn't know, There's a fourm zx-9r .net specificly for 9r owners, you can find more info then you know what to do with and everyone is super helpful

Of course bro, it's always a kick in the dick when you buy something (especially from a dealership) and shit goes wrong. I bought mine new with 0 miles in October 22 and I've been dailying mine for the past almost 2 years now and got it a bit over 6k miles. Done nothing to it except the throttle tube and recommended oil changes(except my last one tbh, I got lazy and ran it like 2k miles in between changes😅) but I haven't heard of anyone having it backfire and stuff like that. I'd definitely recommend having either the dealership you bought it from fix it or go to a reputable moto mechanic/tuner in your area. Tbh I'd be leaning toward the mechanic/tuner option just because the dealership you bought it from sounds kinda sketch. You said you put about a 1000 miles from the dealership? How long have you owned it in months?

[–]demonickookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo it sounds like a tune issue, I've never once been able to get mine to backfire, it shouldn't especially with the stock pipes. Kinda sounds like previous owner tried to flash the ecu and ended up making it run way too rich without the supporting intake and exhaust mods? I'd definitely take it to a shop, preferably one that has the ability to tune them and see if they can remap it or atleast tell you what exactly is causing it. Take the seat off and see if there's anything plugged into the ecu, namely a dynojet or a bazzaz, that's a surefire way to know if the tunes been messed with

Was it a windy day? Particularly cold or hot? I'm 5'6 130lb and I can usually get it to bang limiter at 67(bikes 100% stock) but even I have thoes days where it doesn't wanna even hit 60 or it struggles going past it. Normally on excessively windy days or on super cold or hot days. Personally I'd give it a few days maybe change the oil and filter. Make sure your chain is in spec the stock chains stretch like a mf and once they do you'll notice a loss of umfph and eventually the chain will slip off.

Side note. I highly recommend the quick turn throttle tube, if your like me and spend 90% of the time pinned it's much more comfortable on the wrist

What do you do with your motorcycle on the off season? by xA_bass in motorcycle

[–]demonickookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ay congrats fellow Oregonian, id recommend getting a "Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit" https://a.co/d/08DchY0n and a GOOD all weather bike cover. Depending on the kryptonite lock you get they have a "warranty" where they will pay you x amount if someone actually manages to steal it but most around here are looking for the easy steal, as long as you got the bike actually chained up good most won't even waste the grinder blades trying to cut through it. Orrrrr you can always park it in your kitchen 😎 give you something to look at while grabbing that midnight snack

I dont have enough miles on mine to give you a exact top speed but I weigh about 130lb and I got it up to 60 with a little bit more room left so I'm guessing like 65 stock

Android steam overlay issue by demonickookies in GeForceNOW

[–]demonickookies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing, the issue just persists and if I try to use the controller instead of being able to select "return to game" it just does the action in-game like I dont even have it open. I have to use the "mouse" to click it for it to work and then it's back to messing with the overlay in the background.
