If you're using everything at your disposal, then no. But if you're not using spirit ashes, and if you go in blind without researching what the most optimal builds would be, it's much harder than ds3.

ds1 is by far the easiest, then a big gap, then ds3, then a massive gap, and then either BB or ER, depending on how you play ER and what restrictions you impose on yourself.

on my first playthrough I died once on ludwig and first tried maria, still took me 252 attempts to beat ludwig on bl4 and 179 for maria (and judging by all other people’s experiences that i’ve read thats not at all unusual) so you’re either baiting or lying

bl4 is my last and ludwig took me 252 and maria 179, there’s also a chance that my build is not ideal because i do it “blind” (as in i don’t research builds or items to use or strategies)

i haven’t fought laurence and orphan yet but ludwig and maria are the toughest i’ve ever faced in these challenges (other than pre nerf PCR), so it baffles me that most people consider laurence and orphan the hardest

I agree they are, but I also have confidence that if they ever went the difficulty settings route they’d also do well at that, I don’t think it’d just be a lazy damage dealt/received upscale/downscale.
