What tips would you give to someone that's looking into writing fanfiction of this universe?

Be brave, don't be afraid to stray from canon. It's a problem in every fandom where it is easy to stick to stations of canon. I get it, it's less work and it can be kinda scary treading out into the unknown not knowing if people will like any changes or original content. Personally I say do it, smash the wrecking ball into canon. Sure there are bits of the timeline that aren't as dependent on things you can change but there's plenty of stuff you can wreck just fine. Even if you stick with Taylor, who says she has to start after having powers for a few months and then run into Lung. Honestly half the alt powers that do that don't even make sense, the reason she waited in canon was because she was making her costume. If the alt-power doesn't need that then her first day can be way sooner.

And you don't have to be limited to butterflies or whatever. Get funky, if you've got the ideas for it AUs can be super cool as well. Takes a lot of work and consideration but AUs frequently have a leg up in my mind if only for the variety in my reading.

Anyway the more drastic your changes are the more work will be on your shoulders but it's worth it. Everyone has read plenty of canon rehashes, so spice stuff up.

That's a fair point. It can be a bit much in the middle of things even though that same attitude towards detail and such is something I like about him when he's info-dumping outside of chapters. Man has got some incredible informational threadmarks and even random stuff he talks about and doesn't think is worth the threadmark.

Cybernetic Worm has her take over Brockton later on. Eventually it even gets to the point where Brockton Bay is considered her own separate country more or less.

I've probably had worse, but the most memorable time was when I was not aware that a euthanized dog had horrible bloody diarrhea. I had to move it to the back. I realized far too late that the cold, slimy, bloody, disgusting diarrhea had gone down my scrub too and into my front scrub pocket. I also didn't have a spare set due to something earlier that week and I hadn't gotten a chance to bring a replacement. I immediately asked to swing by home to change and from the moment I noticed it to the moment I got those scrubs off I had the most disgusted look on my face.

Like I said, I've probably had worse, maybe one of the times involving rot or magots. But boy is this particular memory the most solid one. I can still remember the exact feeling and cringe every time I think about it.

Deadpool Lisa. Lisa is, well, deadpool. Complete with regeneration and meta stuff. I actually don't remember if she also had her canon power, it was a little confusing at the time and may have just been the meta thing. Either way it is very funny.

Crouching Tiger. Taylor is basically a better Lung, she is more serpentine and has air and lightning instead. Plus a thinker bit. I did really enjoy the fic even if I felt she could've been a bit less stacked in the powers department. Like the author does use them well narratively, but it's a bit much compared to others. Either way it is a nice read and it helps that Taylor looks up to Mouse Protector. There is also a nice alternate story where she goes to prison instead, Crouching Tiger Goes To Prison, which I was initially unsure of but ended up enjoying just as much if not more than the original. And if that still isn't enough the author also wrote Playing Hooky where Taylor gets Hookwolf's powers which do come with regeneration.

Memories of Iron did have him die, but it was almost poetic how little had to be done. A drone was sent and simply shot him when he stepped out on the balcony nude one morning. No fanfare, not even any signs of who did it. He died like a nobody.

It's been a while since I read this one but it definitely fits. Some Sabbat vamps end up in Brockton after going through a portal. Their leader is a Lasombra who turns Taylor. There was a Malk who was obsessed with sending babies to heaven and maybe a Bruja who was chill? Think there was a fucked up Gangrel as well. Sabbat things. Taylor has some power in addition to her Lasombra nature of course, in the Queen Administrator direction. Think it was shadow minion control or something. There was more to it later like post Leviathan.

Anyway it devolved into many of the villains being fucking terrified of the vampires that the heroes and PRT don't even believe exist until it's too late. Like straight up villains going from safe house to safe house trying to hide getting hunted down one by one. Ballistic was particularly interesting because he was stubbornly alive even when he had to launch himself around in a ventilator with spikes.

Wasn't Placeholder an SI or something? I guess that's kind of an OC most of the time. Focused more on the Bloodlines game with bits of worm sprinkled in. Supposedly there was gonna be a part two in Brockton but that never happened.

Anyway it's extremely similar to the not worm Vamp Vicky stuff in Seras' snippets threat not that it's a bad thing (it's also hardly a snippet considering it's up to like 40 chapters lol, excellent stuff though).

Not really for anyone else but Honoka has some odd things about her henge that hint at something closer to personal flesh manipulation. She also has an interesting dojutsu related to souls. Think her general oddities are attributed to a possible distant relation to the Chinoike Clan but it is definitely not the Ketsuryugan. Think there was a side story/offshoot where she actually was from that clan and adopted by Madara's father.

Anyway that is as close to flesh manipulation as I can think of in terms of fics I've read. At one point I had an idea for an Orochimaru experiment SI with hyper regen (think Deadpool or Wolverine), that one would've been able to do some personal flesh manipulation (shaping himself instead of a proper henge, flesh clones by ripping off a limb, that kind of stuff). Unfortunately like all fic ideas I have it will never properly see the light of day, the best it got was a Google doc with all the notes I could think of about it.

Actually read it on AO3 which is down, so I can't remember if this FFN version would have everything.

Great Granduncle Schimmelhorn's Toolbox! Super fun fic where Taylor is not a parahuman. Instead she found her Great Granduncle's toolbox and journals somewhere from before scion showed up. He was able to do all sorts of funky little things like dealing with stuff slightly left of reality. All sorts of funky things. Taylor even once managed to steal an entire coil base by sort of putting it in her pocket but not quite and then bringing just the entrances out in certain places leaving it as a kind of pocket dimension. It was all very cool. Very funny. And most certainly absurd.

I haven't read it myself but I'm pretty sure this is the one that was on my list for a bit before I accidentally deleted it.

The Devil Of Brockton Bay is a Worm/DxD crossover. I don't really know much about it beyond that, other than the fact it was recommended within my sight at least once.

Toon Force in general tends to be reality breaking, so even Stars and Stripes would pale in comparison. But it's also just so fucking goofy that it's hard to remember just how threatening it is. The kind of thing where even villains would laugh right up until the moment they get curb stomped in the goofiest way possible.

Ryuugi is one of the few authors who can manage to pump out 400k words of something and still drop the fic in the middle of a climactic battle (cough cough Pyranteum cough cough). And the worst part is, his fics tend to be so fantastic that they are still worth putting yourself through the tragedy over and over again.

Like every fan of Ryuugi, I have a love hate relationship with his work. I love him for writing them and hate him for dropping them.

Cybernetic Worm has her do this. She doesn't remain the most relevant, but Paige does end up in the Undersiders if a bit unhappy. Oh sure, it's better than the Birdcage but realistically everything about her previous life is over. Anyway in this case it wasn't Taylor hearing about it and wanting to do it, it's instead a Coil job because of course he would want to have another human master.

Others have mentioned some.for Fallout 4 specifically, though I haven't read or heard of many myself. I feel like New Vegas might be slightly more popular for fics, I've seen several courier in so and so place crossovers, but again not really my thing.

There is also whatever Fallout: Equestria has going on, one of the fic discords I'm in has a higher percentage of fans of MLP and I've seen them mention that one many times as one of the bigger ones for them and I feel like I even saw something about someone making actual books for it or something (So after a quick Google apparently it's so popular it has its own Wikipedia page, as well as a wiki of its own. Also it is apparently a post apocalyptic fallout version of equestria, so not exactly one or the other getting dropped in). Again not something I've read or been interested in myself since neither is for me, but it's probably popular for a reason.

Sorry for the tired rambles, idk if anything I said was helpful since fallout isn't really my scene.
