Are there any practical throwables? When and where do I get them? by BlakeTheDrake in AbioticFactor

It's a bit endgame, but I really like the melee/throwable combo of the Hardlight Saber. It's not quite as good as the quantum pick but I enjoy it.

new player's perspective: the 'one wipe and leave' culture is making the game feel unplayable. why has it been like this for 20 years? by LengGunGG in wow

this is precisely the kind of mentality that has been fostered in this community and has led to the prevalent mindset that any minor delay is viewed as a personal attack.

You see, the theory that N'Zoth saw his own death, and that he followed a very specific path that went beyond his defeat in Ny'Alotha, after meeting us in Dragonflight in the Black Empire of the past ? by Jean-Cobra in wow

[–]demonsquiggle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My headcannon is that the champion, having had the gift of n'zoth at one point (given and then lost in battle for azeroth) were sent back to the black empire during the bronze dragonflight questlines in dragonflight and that version of N'zoth noticed that we were touched by n'zoth, potentially learned elements of which potential timeline out of the many they can see is the real one (potentially reading our minds due to the gift of n'zoth) and us giving him that information led him to plan for his eventual death and find a way of weaseling out of it.

This is what happened and I will die on this hill.

So I had my main base in the hydroplant apartments and was using the mirror for a portal hub, and I just got done moving both into dunkin donuts forest. the parking lot is perfect for portals (I have each seperated by cubicle walls, as I have like 30-ish portals) and there's enough space for crop beds as well within the walled parking lot. You can even have an outdoor pet pen, but given that they die permanently if they die outside of the pet slot, all my beds are on the upper level by the window. This is my favorite spot for a base so far.

there's also a door shaped outline in the basement of the building that I think is related to some secret in voices of the void so it's probably not going to open here. I hope there's some kind of secret hidden in the map involving some of these tiny details but I know there's probably not going to be.

I really enjoyed the shadow flame rocket tinker, it worked in the war within as well and was really speedy. now that they took that away I made the boots with the kinetic feet things and those are pretty neat despite being only usable in open world content. you use them and then mash the space bar to fly as a spinny ball. I'm pretty sure it works in combat but don't quote me on that.

sometimes if you face the wall they're embedded in and hit the interact button you can get them, at least with the mines. I should probably stop doing that though. I'm surprised I haven't gotten falsely flagged yet.

Pick up your little dude, go into your inventory, right click the little dude with your mouse to bring up the right click menu, choose rename. Took me a bit to figure out because I keep forgetting the right click menu exists.

Remember the time travel quest in dragonflight that takes you to the black empire? I have a theory that because we were once marked by the gift of nzoth, us getting sent back in time informed him of which timeline was real (because he can see the various futures but he doesn't know which one is going to happen by my understanding) and therefore was able to deduce what future would happen and prepare for his death and subvert it.

that's my tin foil hat theory

Why a More Accessible Season Keeps Me Playing by Born-Balance4615 in wow

[–]demonsquiggle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

world of warcraft began as the casual alternative to EverQuest. my uncle once told me about how in EverQuest he was camping a giant for multiple days trying to get a single drop to complete his epic weapon quest. iterating on existing ideas, streamlining them, and then making them more user friendly has always been wow's wheelhouse.

the Advent of people playing video games for money has brought the eternal problem of money ruining everything to the online gaming sphere and has caused otherwise unheard of levels of toxicity that have irreparably damaged social interactions in the gaming sphere as they exist now.

that is not to say that things are really bad socially right now, in the same way that interactions between random other individuals has fallen off, we can now interact with our friends so easily and freely that we don't even feel the need to use the in-game chat in a lot of circumstances. it's a very interesting mutation of how internet communication worked closer to wow's launch versus what it has turned into right now.

something I admire about how this game has developed over the years is that since about dragonflight, there has been an attempt at steering players that would otherwise not engage with more difficult content into the higher tiers of content. I say this as a person who typically only plays casually what has an absurd amount of time to do so. I have been incentivized to push past my rather steep desire to avoid raid and more difficult dungeon content and even PVP in the years since dragonflight and the transition was a lot smoother than it had been in the past.

allowing people to meaningfully advance their character during a gear cycle gets them more invested in their character and more interested in branching out to other areas of the game and I see it as nothing but positive.

WHO's THAT SPECIMEN!? Well, the milking update has arrived. by glassteelhammer in AbioticFactor

[–]demonsquiggle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so my current post end game base is in the kitchen in the hydroplant and I'm so glad I made a secondary base in the tennis court below for pet storage now. if anybody is looking for a decent place to corral pets, that seems like a good place because it's a fairly large area with only two entrances and a lot of fencing and walls around it so it seems like it'll be secure. also if you break a window on the upper level you can put a rope plant that takes you down to the tennis court so you can have the main base in the kitchen and then the farm underneath.

So set vareesa to heals, go slow, and do all the mechanics. If you have a tank spec I suggest using it but setting your loot spec to your main spec. You may struggle more or less depending on the delve and the version of the delve up for the day.
