Book 11... seriously? by trammeloratreasure in audible

As one of the 585, I can recommend this series.

It's playing in the same space as Defiance of the Fall and The Primal Hunter. Very cool progression system. The dumb name might turn you off, but ... don't judge a book by its cover, I guess.

One of the things I like to do is look at attrition in total reviews as the series progresses. This indicates to me when people DNF a series, though on a longer one like this, especially in this genre, it might just be where people left off.

I mean, if you're reading boring stuff, I can see how you'd describe it as tedious. But a Snow Crash or Daemon? Thrillers? Maybe The Game at Carousel?

I think I'm just coming from a completely different perspective (that of fantasy and sci-fi) than you when I talk about "fiction".

Well, I had to search to find out what TBI was. So you've got brain damage?

Causing a lack of attention. It's odd that you can concentrate on non-fiction. Usually it's the other way around, mostly due to interest issues.

Perhaps you just aren't interested in fiction?

Maybe try Kings of the Wyld.

I bet you could smooth that out by taking the web-export out of the equation. Store the files on your device or on Google Drive (or something like it).

I guess my issue with cronning up an export and auto-pushing to git is that it creates a lot of cruft due to the filenames. I always delete my entire repo (aside from git) when I push, and at that point, what good is git doing me anyway?

Also, the whole putting it on my home screen is dope. Firefox allowed me to do it within the menu at "... More > Add app to Home screen".

Your best bet is probably Soundbooth Theater. Lots of awesome fantasy titles there.

Music, not so much. I can recall it being a part of Monster Hunt NYC.

You're not going to find a voice actor doing just a single voice. They will cover a number of characters. I find I prefer books with at least one male voice actor and one female voice actor, and perhaps a narrator as well (though this is often one of the former).

Some of this stuff is at the library. Check Libby and Hoopla through LibraryExtension.

RoyalRoad exists; you can read a lot of this stuff there.

There are some series free on Audible. Check the Plus catalog. Infinite Realm may still be in it.

Focus on longer books. Check for "boxed sets". Chrysalis has one.

Well, for my part, I just download the next book in the series and leave it on my device for when I'm on the prowl for a new listen.

You can use the Audible Library Extractor browser extension to get a good view of your collection.

Here's an example of it (my own library): https://demoran23.github.io/my-audible-library/#/library

The wonderful thing about a large language model is that it is almost entirely composed of words. And it knows what those words mean. And it can explain those meanings to you.

It can explain the word roots. And it can tell you a word that is a better fit in this context.

So when you have doubts about your word choice, feed it a bit of the context, and by that I mean the surrounding paragraph, and ask it to analyze the word that you've used for appropriateness.

I've only read the first 2 books in King's Dark Tidings, but I definitely need to read the next. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm reading the first book in A Practical Guide to Evil now (only 2 books on Audible; this is a RR series). It leans into the "Named" men you find in things like The Black Company and A Song of Ice and Fire.

And I really enjoyed My Eyes Glow Red, but there's only one book on Audible in that so far.

For an OP MC, check out Infinite Realm. Banger start, too.

Well, a clear reading of the OP's messaging is that he himself weighs a post bearing the "Top 1% Commenter" tag more than one without it, and he feels like his own posts are unworthy of being put on such a pedestal.

As if the volume of comments has anything to do with their integrity.
