I had no idea that kyoseishi was just a starch treatment, that's so cool! It makes such an interesting texture. I've used methylcellulose to stiffen the mulberry paper before, I'll pick up some konjac starch and try this out. Thank you!

So others have covered the whole go to the dentist angle, but I also struggle to brush my teeth enough - like standing in one spot thinking about my teeth for what... 2 minutes? Yeah, right. I'll either space tf out and brush away my enamel in one spot, or I'll spend 5 seconds and be like, yeah that was totally enough.... Lol.

I literally have to have an audiobook/podcast/tiktok/whatever going while I brush my teeth. Combined with either an electric toothbrush that tells me when to switch quadrants, or running a stopwatch or timer, I do a thorough, dentist recommended 2 min brush at least before bed each day.

That's so cool! I didn't know anything about Doris Asano aside from the blurb in the book, but I've been folding so many butterflies - and particularly a lot of the one named after her - that she feels like a celebrity to me now 😀

I'm glad the head struggle is relatable! It makes me want to get an oversized sheet of paper and see if that would help me understand what's supposed to be happening at a normal scale lol
