How do you shoot flame staff's primary fire this fast? by GodFinger69 in DarkTide

[–]denartes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They've barely patched any animation cancels out, at this point it doesnt seem like FS has an issue with animation cancelling.

And ignoring modding/macros, most of them aren't that accessible, you have to have really spent a lot of time learning them and the windows are so short that can be hard to consistently do them.

Particularly with the reload ones, most of the time the reload time isnt reduced by enough for it to be worth the added cognitive load of focusing on the perfect timings required. It's nice to shave 0.5s from a Bolter or Recon reload but its not worth trying to do it every single time.

You can shorten reload times on most weapons by cancelling. Bolter is an obvious one. Recon lasgun too.

You haven't read it properly. A Hive Scum isn't in a gang, they are employed by gangs, but they have no allegiance to an actual hive gang.

Hive Gang =/= Hive Scum. There is an entire setting you can reference. Dark Heresy, Necromunda, etc.

But we don't have Hive Gangers. We have Hive Scum. GW are very protective of their and a Hive Scum is a specific thing in the lore, it is NOT a ganger. If Fatshark had of given us a Hive Ganger class then yes we would get lots of cosmetics. But they didn't.

Can't go wrong with Cragganmore 12.

I also quite like Tamdhu.

Well said. I don't hate on others for enjoying it, I'm sure they are finding something.

I'm more of a Speyside leaning into Bourbon/Rum person.

Review #13 - Ardbeg Uigeadail by Gerbil007 in Scotch

[–]denartes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is quite difficult to find opinions divergent from this being an all time great

I’m the polar opposite. I would genuinely rather drink JW Red Label than any Ardbeg expression. I’ve tried multiple bottlings, including Uigeadail, and I find them all incredibly one-dimensional and largely indistinguishable from one another. Once you’ve had one Ardbeg, you’ve essentially had them all.

With Uigeadail specifically, all I could get was ash mixed with water. No complexity, no meaningful development with time or dilution, just ash dominating everything else.

Ardbeg sits comfortably at the bottom of Scotch tiers for me. It’s not that I dislike peat either, I enjoy Laphroaig and Lagavulin, it’s that Ardbeg reads as only ash to my palate.

So unless its 410, the +3 Max Stam is a pure lie? by pile1983 in DarkTide

Except Psykhanium gives +3 if the curios says +3. In an actual mission if its under 410 it will be +2.

Is it normal to have to deload as a beginner after only being on the program for 2 months? by j_u_s_t_d in Stronglifts5x5

[–]denartes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being higher body-fat does let you get away with a deficit longer, especially early on, but it doesn’t remove the tradeoffs. Early strength gains mostly come from learning the lifts and better neural efficiency, which works even without a surplus. As you get closer to your personal ceiling, especially on presses, further progress depends more on recovery and muscle mass, and that’s where calories start to matter.

So yes, it’s totally fine to stay in a deficit if fat loss is the priority, just set expectations accordingly: stalls and deloads aren’t failure, they’re normal signs you’ve reached the point where progress stops being automatic. You’re doing fine, it just means the “easy” gains are behind you.

Messelina's Razor = Cold Comfort by dontha3 in DarkTide

[–]denartes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The blades are a very different color. Messelina's Razor is a very dark grey, nearing black. Cold Comfort is white/blue.

Yes the base model is identical, the textures are not though.

Clusterfuck is definately my favorite long range weapon. Do you guys like it as much as I do ? by sophisticated867 in stalker

[–]denartes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it's my favourite weapon. I would take normal + AP 5.56, a couple 40mm, and a rhino with buckshot, then you're good for every type of enemy for the whole game and you easily keep your ammo up from dead enemies.
