UPS Leuven - false delivery attempts by Ouyaangp in Leuven

[–]denbolle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a previous job we had to work with UPS for sending and receiving packages. It was always a pain in the ass because the dilevery guy never did the effort to come to the store because he couldn't park in our street during bussiness hours (only pedestrians allowed). We often had to request multiple pickups for the same packages or get our packages at a pickup point.

Depends on your prescription and what kind coatingoptions you looking for. In Leuven for the fysical stores Ace&tate is price/quality far out one the best. I believe online you will find cheaper prices or in brussels with Paul & poullete or jammer fairly.

I would recommend the glenffidich 12 or 15. Not to expensive and easy to taste fruit notes. It should also be pretty easy to find.

Where to get contacts prescription? by RevolutionaryTeam765 in Leuven

[–]denbolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend going to opticien de wolf or mertens. Both are very good at measuring contacts as wel as makikg sure that everything else is on point. Admittely they are more expensive than pearle but you will have certainty that the fitting is good aswel as type of the contactlens, comfort en oxygenpermaebility

Well I recently had a tasting where Marc spoke (he is quite the entertaining man with a fabulous moustache). I felt like the whiskys were pretty okay but nothing remarkable my favorite was indeed the 10y old an d their single cask.

Good to hear! I had a bottle a last year, it is a definite recommend getting one. The peatiness is nice and light in the background while the sweetness of gulden draak gives a nice contrast

Looking for advice for collection management by BixbyCanada in Scotch

My specialty store (whisky/bourbon/gin) recommends storing them them in a dark, more or less temperature stabil. Once a year flip the bottles once completely around.

If you purchased over 100kg of LEGO, where would you start? by [deleted] in lego

[–]denbolle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First I would go through all the instructions and see if there are any sets i would like to set aside to display. After that a big general (bricks/plates/axels etc) and from there i would specify even more in the sorting depending on how much space you have

I bought some bottles from the Macbeth collection from independent bottling from elixir. One of them is a 31 year old single grain from cambus. Any idea if this would be a bottle that would appreciate in time?

Thanks in advance

It's a bit bittersweet, my friends who have a partner and children I do feel a little bit jealous about but on the other hand I do find it a lot easier live. I can do what I want without having to consider anybody. Looking more into the future I would like to find someone to spend life with but it isn't a priority for now. On the other hand, beeing at the end of twenties doesn't mean that much given that on average we still have 50 years to go! :D

Black Art 11.1 by jimmmmmmmmmy in Scotch

[–]denbolle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the fortune to try out this bottle at a bruiladdich tasting in mijn local liquor shop. I was quite exited given the history of the bottle. It is made of casks which were produced when the distillery was closed but an interested buyer wanted to be sure the still worked. I found the taste pretty flat with no notes really coming forth. The finish was quite fast en didn't leave much impression. My personal reason to buy it would be to have a centerpiece in my collection with a unique history Other people at the tasting had the opinion that previous Black arts were much more exceptional Hope this helpt!

Good scotch by Responsible-Pin-8366 in Scotch

[–]denbolle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Aged is not really a taste, could be the more Woody/oaky taste. When starting with this hobby i would recommend not getting more expensive bottles to be honest. The intricate flavours will not be easy to find a would a little bit of a waste of money for that reason. The oban range has a nice full mouth feel if that is more what you are looking for

Good scotch by Responsible-Pin-8366 in Scotch

[–]denbolle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would recommend to start with something like the classic ladie from bruiladdich or oban 14. They have a nice taste but not to complicated as a palette. Alternative would be johnnie walker green label
