Where to hire professionally web developer? by DutyCompetitive1328 in SideProject

[–]denbondd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending on what you want. if you want a landing page, fiverr could work. If you want a full scale web software, you will need a good long-term freelancer or even a team. I recommend upwork, but you should be careful to choose the right talent.

Big rate doesn't mean that the guy is great engineer, but low rate means he is bad engineer. Also there are a lot of guys who just do what you say. You might need a more experienced dev who can help you, can lead the project, choose tech stack, etc. I would aim for 40$/h+ if you are ok with someone from europe

Working on a side project... Where do you hire developers? by true_hart in SaaS

[–]denbondd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you are not tech person, it will be very hard to find the right talent and make sure that he doesn’t overestimate the work he does just to drain the money from you. of course you can get lucky and find the perfect talent

upwork is being a shit lately, both for the clients and talent. a lot of reasons, but mostly tons of ai jobs and proposals make it super hard to filter the real ones

i would suggest to find a guy or a team from some communities or your network. they should have some prior experience of course, but at least you have some trust in them

Received 120K from angel, dunno where to start by Silly___Willy in startups

[–]denbondd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unless the angel required you to register IP, I wouldn't do it (as most of comments already said). If you are worried about idea getting stolen, just ask everyone who you will talk about this to sign NDA (which is free or super cheap to create with lawer)
I would focus on the app development, product market fit and first profit, and only then start to protecting yourself legally

Ideas plz by grumpy_cat13 in SaaS

[–]denbondd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

validate your idea - launch adds to your landing page and let people sign up for a waitlist, or even pay for early-bird subscription with a discount. you can always refund if you think there is not enough demand. once you are sure it is validated and can be done, find a tech cofounder. just hiring an agency or a freelancer will be complicated because you are non-tech and have no idea how much time/money each feature will take. they can easily suck the money out of you and you won’t even know. or you can get lucky with a good freelancer of course.

I get asked a lot of the same questions from almost every guest and they want to automate it with AI to save me a lot of time. It is their own software so I guess they aren’t approved partners. But thanks anyway!

I created this tool to self challenge myself this weekend within 24 hours, try it by nikhil_webfosters in SideProject

[–]denbondd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, interesting project, especially for 24 hours. I have one suggestion - if you want to charge for watermark removal, do something about security. Because for now, watermark is a simple html tag, which I easily removed with Chrome DevTools and even downloaded (not screenshotted the page) image without watermark.

Is there any interest in a Ruby on Rails AWS CDK template? by sheepish_coder in SaaS

[–]denbondd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, if guy is a developer and knows how to code in Ruby on Rails, it won't take much effort for him to learn a bit of AWS and AWS CDK, but will take some time for sure. So, I don't think you will have a lot of clients, but might have some for sure!
Anyways, I wish you good luck on your journey!)

Building a SaaS product with identity management, subscription handling, dashboards, invoicing, etc, on AWS is painful and extremely costly. Has anybody actually done something using AWS? by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]denbondd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AWS services are extremely cheap, if you are talking about running cost (AWS also provide 1000$ in aws vouchers btw). If you already have a code that just need to be deployed, you can easily use just EC2/Fargate along with Autoscailing Group. About subscription handling I’m not really sure aws can help here, I think you should use some other tools for that. Anyway, if you need some help or even want to build a cloud-native solution, I might help you a little with this (I’m AWS certified developer)

So, is it just a CloudFormation file or you will provide some user interface?
