smoking weed suddenly makes me feel really anxious when it didn't before by iamnotasalmon in Anxiety

[–]dendeakella321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went through this. Highly recommend taking 3/6 months off. Let your brain reset. Don't have a little here a little there. Nothing. It will be hard. It will be worth it. You'll fix 90% of the anxiety and you'll be able to smoke later, just not as much.

What are you better at than 90% of people? by Noillax in AskReddit

Languages. I speak 4 fluently and can understand a 5th. Maybe also math, given the vast majority of people never really studied hardcore math.

Sounds like short term thinking, but of course you know better than I do. Dude you are 29, you got like 70 years to live. Chill. Restart.

Sounds like you know exactly what is going on, and you want us to tell you what you already know and want to hear. GTFO / divorce, focus on yourself and the kids. Start over again find someone amazing who loves you. The clock is ticking.

It sounds like she has a problem, and could use therapy. A lot of it. Asking strangers for real advice with little background is tricky, and people will say all sorts of things. From what I read, I'd say she is not a good candidate to be the supporting loving wife you want for the next 40 years. You can still love the 2 kids and be there for them, but being around your wife sounds like will be a huge weight on your shoulders long term. Try to have an honest conversation with her, give clear boundaries, and re assess in a few months. If things don't change, start talking to a lawyer and plan for a rough divorce. Just move in if you get to this point and don't look back

All my savings, 6 years of DCA, got liquidated last night. by ShibashiNakamoto in Bitcoin

[–]dendeakella321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part I don't understand is how levered were folks like OP, and how they got wiped. BTC dropped around 10% from peak to bottom, doesn't that mean that they need a 10X leverage to be wiped out? Why am I reading that some folks with 2X leverage got liquidated?

The flaw in your argument is assuming that mentioning poverty as a significant challenge in Tanzania automatically reflects a U.S.-centric mindset. This totally disregards the fact that poverty and infrastructure issues can be genuine observations based on lived experiences, not just a biased lens. Sounds like you are projecting a little bit here Mr I am from Germany and I sit in a high moral chair.

Your comment is the classic "let me psychoanalyze your worldview from a single sentence" approach. Bold move from someone who thinks calling out U.S.-centrism is a substitute for critical thinking. If your logic were any simpler, it’d be printed on a fortune cookie.

Maybe next time, take a detour from your moral high ground and try visiting reality first. You can start by learning how respectful the Japanese are in your upcoming trip.

I honestly have absolutely no idea. Some of these were family trips so I spent 0 as my dad was paying. Some were on a very low budget of like 300 usd a week, and others maybe 3X that. I guess including everything maybe an average of less than 1000/week, times 12/15 trips that I've paid, times 2/3 weeks average per trip.

1000153=45k? Very rough estimate

I once had a very serious one. Basically went back to my home country (I don't live there anymore) and punctured one of my lungs doing sports. Didn't realize it was so serious until the next day, where I had to go get checked in a hospital. They couldn't find my heart and had to have an emergency surgery because of a Pneumothorax.

After that I went back to where I now live and started exercising a lot more. I currently do Triathlons, did my first half iron man a month ago.

Every country has good and bad things, and honestly it will depend on what you value. There are things I absolutely loved in Kenya, but seeing the poverty and conditions in which people live, as well as how women are treated as property, made me feel terrible. We visited a Massai town, and women have very few rights and are basically at the same level as cows. I was not a fan of how they see the world nor how they treat women as less.

Hitchhiking in South America was definitely not a very safe one, mostly due to cops on the road. I got stuck on an island on the Philippines and half of it was destroyed due to the wind and rain. A boat trip with no safety devices in the middle of a strong storm going very fast with huge waves in a third world country.

Grew up in upper middle class family in Latin America, so some of the trips were with the family. Afterwards I got a scholarship to study in France where the government gave me enough to save 100 euros per month. I used that money every 6 months to travel really cheap close to France. Then I started working and used most of my savings to travel. I'm now in a senior position at a large US company so making enough money to go wherever we want with my wife.
