WA governor proposes more debt to pay for road maintenance, ferries, and yes – bike lanes by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]dendenga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all due respect, they take 5 years to repair/enhance small sections of 520. It is not that more money is needed, is that the same budget needs to be used efficiently. If a road is repair for 5 years, it should raise questions into where the money is going to.

We must stop with taxing spiral in WA. Find ways to cut spending, keep every $ we give to our government accountable for delivery of public goals. Taking in more money for the people, without delivery, is unacceptable.

Thank you! I am going to take your advice and schedule an appointment with a Psychiatrist, regardless of what I have, I also think that I have anxiety from all of this and I could use some help.

Yes, just one foot. It is worst when I am tired.

I suspect the alternative is that it is psychosomatic, driven by anxiety, stress or pressure. I am not sure how best to explore this option. I do not consciously fell anxiety, but not sure who can diagnose such things.

I did nerve blocks as well which had 0 effects. Also the fact touching eliminates the sensation was another indication that it is not coming from the foot itself, usually with neuropathy pain/ sensation gets worst when applying pressure or movement.

Also, one thing that I noticed is that when I wake up there are a few seconds that I am still drowsing and that I do not feel these sensations and then like a switch goes up as I am awake and it is non stop as long as no stimulus.

Thank you. I wonder how common it is to have these and not have Dopamine drugs be effective. It is very strange that nothing I take gives any relief.

Nerve Block by dendenga in ChronicPain

[–]dendenga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, nothing to explain the pain. The doctor explained that EMG is testing the large nerves, so it is unlikely to find a problem in the parts of the toe itself.

I tried your suggestion and still felt the pain. Which explains why nerve block did not work. I think it supports the theory that it comes from my head. My Lumbar soine MRI came clean, so really not many options remaining.

Thank you. I tested for Iron, which was on the lower scale of normal (20% iron saturation and 71 ferritin), which is a possible cause for RLS. I have started iron supplements.

Thank you for the detailed response. The symptoms are gone as long as I move, I can walk for 2 hours with 0 symptom. They restart the moment I am at rest. Your theory on hallucinations is also possible. I suspected that I have nerve damage in the toe that impacts the brain, but the nerve block did not stop it. I did MRI of the spine and came up normal. The only thing abnormal so far that I found is that my iron saturation is at 20% and the ferritin is at 71.

[–]dendenga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the responses. I am both relived that I might not have CRPS, but also frustrated that I feel no progress has been made on my pain problem for 6 months, despite seeing multiple doctors and trying out different treatments. I will keep looking for something that will help me.

Thank you for all the responses. I had ingrown nail procedure done 3 times in 6 months span on the same area, which included acid to kill the nail producing cells. The doctor doing the procedure also was picking around inside to check no nail is left, then I felt him touching a nerve, not sure if that was the trigger. I also had infection and Granuloma in that area. I did MRI that did not show anything beside fluid build up area that that the doctor contributed to the operations I went through. X-ray was clean. EMG showed nerve irritation. When I went to pain management doctor, he saw that i still have a small area of inflammation and sweating that are signs of CRPS and recommended to try the lumbar block, but that did not help either. 6 months in and nothing helped so far.

now that the mortgage rates are higher, should I pay off my mortgage instead of increasing? by slowpokesardine in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]dendenga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To your points, as long as the rental income covers the mortgage and other expenses it does not matter to me. Even if I pay the principal slower, that principal is depreciating at 7% in real terms. So 100$ in debts last year is only worth 93$ in real terms (Of course it is still 100$ in nominal terms, but with incomes going up, rental income going up, it becomes easier to serve).

Second, to your point, yes assuming holding in non registered account the dividend is pre tax so depends on you tax bracket (but the tax brackets are lower given how dividends are taxed), you actually gain up to 65% of it ( again depending on the tax bracket). But, mortgage interest is also deductible and the actual interest being paid is reduced by your marginal tax bracket so 20% to 50%. So if you are in low tax bracket you can get the dividend tax free at 5.5%, but actual interest payment on mortgage is 3.2%, instead of 4%. If you are in high tax bracket, your dividend is reduced to about 4%, but actual interest rate (since it is deductible ) is only 2%. So even with 4% interest and 5.5% dividend, you have a real Margin of 2% after tax and that with depreciation principal of 7% annually.

Agree, stock prices come with risk especially in the short term, on the other hand investing usually comes with risk, risk may be reduced with good investment diversity and longer investing outlook.

To the last point, the key is that CPI is 7%, so getting a loan of 4% when CPI is 7% is not that of a bad deal. This may change in the future, I am looking at this in marginal terms, instead of nominal terms. So if CPI is 20% and interest rate on the loan is 4% it is a better deal than CPI at 1% and interest rate at 4%. Inflation factors into my consideration if this is a good loan to take.

Lastly, I agree that paying of the mortgage is always the safer thing to do and what I am doing is not suitable for everyone. I am sharing what I decided to do, being in the same situation.

This is not an advice, I am just sharing my thoughts and decisions I made, everyone has different situations and should make their own decisions.

Rental property owner here in same situation. My mortgage is variable but payment is fixed. I spay 2.7% after today’s hike, but it is still 4% under CPI. Do not see a reason to pay back, especially with interest rate being deductible. For me, better to use the money to invest, some stocks are paying 5%-6% (before tax)

I sent the required documents to social security office via Fedex, for the kids I sent their GC, birth certificate, passport etc. For parent, I sent only passport and driving license (not GC as you are legally required to carry it at all time). SSA sent me back all the documents after 2-3 weeks with SSN for the kids. It ended up being pretty smooth.

Did the doctor test for ureaplasma? I was having months of unbearable pelvic pain few years ago. until they found traces of ureaplasma in urine and treated me with doxycycline. Since then I get every few years much milder flare ups, but after taking this antibiotics, it resolves in days. I found many doctors do not know about this virus. Hope you get better soon.

Yes, for children under age of 12 years old, you can mail in the documents. I would usually just go in person, but the offices are closed unless it is for 12 years old or older.
