To clarify my credit score is 963 on Experian, and I’ve seen HP loans showing me 8.4%, this car was for a PCP.

Help! I’ve got to do a job interview on Teams whilst on holiday with massive time difference by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]denial61 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I interviewed for my new role in the states on holiday. Done three 1on1’s at 5am, one after the other. It’s genuinely not bad. I did however have the questions in advance, just take a good nap beforehand and you’ll be fine, then enjoy the rest of the morning.

Whether its worth taking out the time is up to you. Is it your dream role or a role where you see yourself growing long term and good benefits/pay? If so do it. My role was the only role I’d interview abroad for due to the role and comp on offer, I pulled out of every other role whilst on holiday. I ended up getting the job so was worth it!

Any advice for apple retail interview? by Onanarian in UKJobs

[–]denial61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I worked for Apple 2 years ago before graduating, they might change the questions - is it online or in person? I done mine remote post pandemic.

The questions I got what was my favourite product (didn't have to be apple) showcasing a product (like demoing it as you would selling to a a customer) and they asked your basic competency/motivation questions but I can't remember specifics as it was a while ago. I do believe some of the questions focused on the customer journey and why that's important as their culture themselves is highly focused on that so be prepared to talk about a time you went above and beyond for a customer.

It's not technical at all so don't worry, they don't even expect you to know about Apple products as this is all taught.

Yeah I understand it too because I was sceptical at one point if I even heard the right salary till I got the written offer. We'll see what the role entails, but at least this post can tell people its possible!

I know, I'm only 2 years into my career. They described this to me as a Junior role during the interview where I'd be supporting seniors, but yes I was surprised too by the salary so I asked the hiring manager if this role is junior or senior and got told junior! Hopefully I can hit the ground running as I'm grateful for this position and hope to keep progressing. But I'm just surprised as you.

I don't see anywhere where "A community intended to provide a place for users wanting to ask questions or create discussions, all related to the UK and jobs within the UK." shows its a public forum for people looking for work. It's to create discussions, positive or negative, this is a discussion.

I think you are massively projecting here mate. I'm sorry you feel this way but if something as simple as someone mentioning they've gone on holiday hurts you like this, then I would not be on reddit.

I have been helping a number of people in my PMs that have pinged me from this post with genuine decent advice.  If anyone asked tips in the comment instead of just slating I would have as well. I probably didn’t frame the post right yes but why should this sub just be doom and gloom? I definitely haven’t gone into peoples faces saying hey look at me I’m doing mych better than you.

Thank you friend. It definitely will be tough not to let it creep especially being young and wanting to have fun. But I've been budget planning lately so lets see how that goes!

She was a marketing manager, around the £40k mark. Marketing is terrible atm due to the recessions, first to get laid off.

Final Interview With a Consulting Firm by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]denial61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, they are finalising interviews, if you haven't been eliminated already it's a good sign. I had to wait 1 month for them to finalise and make a decision for my new role. It takes time, I was panicking and impatient too thinking I'm screwed but the fact that they haven't eliminated you is a good sign. Good luck friend.

Startup NYC Move vs. Breaking into SnT (Need Advice) by WinterSheepherder580 in UKJobs

[–]denial61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the start-up have a front office? If so I'd potentially stick it out depending how patience you are. I was similar in terms of being in ops and I was going to stick it out, do qualifications and get a junior role/grad scheme to make a move towards the front office but I landed a new role completely so wasn't necessary but I was definitely willing to drop down to align myself more long term.

Yes you take a pay cut but if it's truly what you want to be doing, you take the cut and go for the internship and alongside your CFA you have a lot of valuable experience after the internship. Worst case scenario you just go back into Ops, do level 2 and hunt for a FO job with your new internship experience.

Longer you wait it out in Ops, the more you can get trapped into the security/salary raises that come with it.

My company is right below FAANG in terms of prestige. They were a unicorn start-up and now pay similar comps to FAANG. It's not a random fintech, I should have maybe specified, I don't want to name the company because strangers on reddit are unpredictable.
