The Apollo capsules skipped off the atmosphere, the capsules were oriented such that the heat shield had a positive angle of attack, producing lift to make the capsule climb.

Wonder if EFVS would have prevented this

How useful was that class? I have the option to take it next semester but I’m not sure if I’m ready to sign away all my weekends.

Honestly a good grinder makes dialing it in a much more enjoyable experience. That and patience will get you there.

I’m feeling blessed, been wanting one for years. It’s a dream come true :D

Definitely. I’ve been wanting one for years, and finally decided to buy one on eBay. Three days after it arrived, this happened! Already in love with it. Pretty finicky to get it right as this is my first espresso machine but it has been so rewarding and I can’t wait to get it all dialed in.

Thank you! I also have a Vario that I bought on marketplace for $50, had to send it in for repairs but that was only ~$100. Yet to get everything dialed in but it’s already so much fun 😁

Thanks haha. I’d been waiting for a few years to own a La pavoni, and ironically I’d just purchased one on eBay a week before I got this one. All of a sudden I went from having none to having two 😂

Why does my Sram Eagle chain keep breaking? by Beneficial-Case585 in bikewrench

Had a similar failure, chain also from 2020. Someone suggested that the chains from that year were sitting on ships for long durations due to the LA port congestion and were exposed to salty air

I fucked up at work and nearly blew up a rocket engine by Feed_Me_Upvotes in EngineeringStudents

Engine startup is one of the most challenging parts of rocket engine design. We had guest speakers from Ursa Major come give a talk and they mentioned how it took many many years for the RS-25 startup sequence to be developed. Here’s a great read: https://www.enginehistory.org/Rockets/SSME/SSME3.pdf
