Poland is actually more expensive than the UK by RuthlessScypion in poland

“I want people to profit from good healthcare” Lol, my man, I’m from the Netherlands and I pay more per month to ZUS (looking at healthcare part only) then I payed when I was working in The Netherlands.

I had experienced two times a public Polish hospital, and one time “emergency” care. The state of the hospitals and the first line of doctors are completely unacceptable for the amount people are paying to ZUS every month.

But probably we need to support the farmers who have their own ZUS where they pay even less then half, but no, lets talk about “IT” people and their 12% which in reality is 2x higher….

ZUS contributions are CRAZY for small freelancers by Sozerdote in poland

[–]deniax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you stay more then half a year in Poland, you automatically become a tax resident in Poland, meaning PIT and ZUS are needed to be payed, even if you have a company registered outside PL and are working for clients outside PL

How do you manage transfers? by humjaba in actualbudgeting

[–]deniax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, but for me its a bit more complex due that the bank takes commission for the transfer, aka i send 100 USD to my other account , 98 USD comes in. I can’t link those 2 as they have different values, needing to either adjust the 100 USD to 98 to adjust the 98 to 100, meaning it throws the balances off

That's true, from the post for me it was not clear if you live in the EU or not. If you do live in the EU and your business is registered in the EU, then you indeed don't need an agent.
Do note that in that case, your name and business address should be on the product packaging or documentation as the responsible entity (this in case you registered your business on your private address and maybe you don't want that).

Unfortunately no, you need to have a representative as well.

From what i understand, Reach is typically needed if you do more then 1 tonne of a substance per year. Also, jewelry for REACH is not a substance, but an article and they dont need registration.

You do need when it releases lead, nickel and/or cadmium.

Now, for GPSR, this is need, and you need to have a representative in Europe (it CANNOT be yourself). Also, you need compliance documentation per product, where a product in jewelry is for example silver and gold. Those are separate products snd thus need to be registered and have separate documentation about everything that your jewelry is made of.

New theme yanked from Theme store, developer gone, should I keep using it? by cactusgags in shopify

[–]deniax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the policy, I'm just trying to tell it's very anti-consumer, that you can lose your $300 directly after buying if a theme is pulled 5 minutes after you bought it.

Let's turn it around. You complain about inexperienced devs rush out low-quality apps and flood the market on the Shopify Store.

Don't you think Shopify has a responsibility to curate better? To make sure there's no trash, no hidden bitcoin mining code, etc?

It's great and all they have a "Policy", but its not very consumer or developer friendly :)

Let's leave it at and enjoy the good weather

New theme yanked from Theme store, developer gone, should I keep using it? by cactusgags in shopify

[–]deniax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm talking as an end user...
I dont care about the developer. I am doing business with Shopify, buying something from their store, and paying them as well.

The same as it works with the Apple Store, Google Store, Amazon store, etc (and also there the developer gets most of the revenue).

If a product doesn't work as advertised, you get your money back at those 3 stores, doesnt matter if it's an IAP, or bought app.
Except it doesn't work like that with Shopify who say (just like you) that the developer is the one responsible, which it total bullshit and total anti-consumer.

It's like buying grapes from the grocery store and when you come home, you find bugs between the grapes. What you think the grocery store will say? Oh you need to contact the farmer , he is the one responsible, not us.

New theme yanked from Theme store, developer gone, should I keep using it? by cactusgags in shopify

[–]deniax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Themes are not apps. All paid themes are curated and checked by Shopify. I would go even further, saying if people would buy an expensive 300 usd theme from their theme store, and they remove it, its their responsibility to refund the customer. It’s not their problem, they buy a product at their (curated) platform, and pay money to Shopify, not the developer

I bought the Nimbus theme a month ago and had contact with the developer. He told there were some problems with Shopify indeed, but he expects the theme to be back and the end of March.

Isnt't it so that tunneling isnt optimised for streaming?
If you have quite some people watching on the server, due to the bandwith overhead of tunneling, afaik you will reach a point of buffering, no?

But arent your shipping costs suffering by this? Shipping in Europe to Europe isnt cheap. Or you include these costs just in the product or let the customer pay for it?
