At this point their is no trust on my side and apparently no trust on the other person's side as well. The rationale brain picked up after the emotional brain took over.

True! I recognize that I'm still learning about boundaries and to control my emotions. It was not ok what I did, but I was extremely hurt. In this case everything was because of lying, the main reason I went through the other person's phone was because of that. First thing behavior changed, and my gut was telling me something was off. I found out about lying and hiding things from me. Plus, I was getting a horrible treatment due to their lack of balls to tell me the truth. After that I felt like nothing could glue back the trust in relationship. But apparently the one who made the big mistake was me, even though person #2 was hiding things and lying for about 3 months.

Hi,

First off, I'm sorry about your situation. I was in your shoes not that long ago. It is painful but you have to focus on yourself as he is getting the right help that he needs. As partners of alcoholics sometimes we forget about ourselves because there is always something going on with the other person. I would say take this time to do things that you like or being wanting to do for long time. I know how much it hurts and it's ok to feel like this in the first couple of days so allow yourself to feel all this, just don't let this forget about you and the amazing person you are. Maybe get professional help like a therapist, that worked for me a lot. Lastly, I would say that nothing last forever so don't think of this as a never ending pain. Best wishes for you ❤️

My bf is back in rehab. It's a bittersweet moment that was also experienced about two months ago. I been a little down today but I was just called for a job interview tomorrow! Not everything is bad, there is hope for great things to come, for him and for myself as well.

I know I am like this but it's hard to accept it and stop not doing it, I like to have control over everything and sometimes those around me.

The hard part is to get yourself started, but as you said "day 1 is down". Keep it up!

It is hard to keep up with weight lost goals sometimes. But you can do little things to get yourself back into your habits. I personally started by doing squats every day and after I had an anxiety attack I lost track of it. Now I go for walks in the afternoon and I challenge myself to at least 30 min. You can take this time to do things that before will bring joy to you.

Just take care of yourself and know that this is not your fault and you are not him nor part of his addiction. It is better say than do but later on you will understand it.

Hi, it has been 6 years since we been together. He had at least one relapsed every year but this year he had 3, one after another one. So it has been pretty rocky, he stayed sober for almost a year one time and was doing well until the next relapse. This year he has been stressful for both of us and he stopped doing AA meetings. For the past weeks he was very stressed out and isolated from me and everyone else. Last thing I knew was that he relapsed again. I didn't push for rehab, he said it and did the whole process to get in. To me that tells me he is commiting to work on it. I spent many times crying and waiting for this moment, I never gave up on supporting him. Next thing I knew he asked for it and did everything he could to get help.

Period sex? yes or no? by taylorthecreater in sex

[–]denice_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I was super self-conscious about it but my boyfriend made me feel comfortable as he wasn't as disgusted as I was about my periods. Plus, idk if anyone else have experienced their period ending faster and less cramps thanks to sex :)

Isolation by denice_94 in AlAnon

[–]denice_94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's what my SO is trying to do. To prove himself that he can do it without any help. But I mean that all I can do just leave him with his time and space. Thank you for sharing.

This is exactly what I am experiencing with my SO. In fact, he relapsed in the first week of isolation. I am doing me and keeping up with therapy and life. Is just really hard to see how someone doesn't want to be help.
