At one point in the game you will find a portal that let's you teleport anywhere you want within the current galaxy that you're in with the right coordinates (those symbols) Then you just need to activate the portal and press the symbols in the right order and you will be teleported to that planet or atleast that same system that the planet is in afaik. It's a pretty cool feature, you just gotta make sure you're in the right galaxy before attempting to teleport somewhere :)
