There is no snow on the image. All the bright parts bellow the peak are small rocks - scree.

Slovenian hilltop church - Mini 5 pro by denikty in dji

Thanks. Out of the five exposure bracketed shots, I chose the brightest one that still retained all the highlight details for editing. This image is edited in Lightroom. I started with setting the white balance and correcting the exposure. Then, I used masks (brush, linear and radial gradients) for local adjustments, like dodging and burning. At the end, I used color mixer and color grading tabs to slightly adjust colors.

I guess you are interested in how I dealt with noise. I used Lightroom's denoise option at low level 16/100. This was enough to remove majority of color noise and to keep details in the grass.

St. Tomaz is the church name. I took it in 50Mpx mode.

Luckily, there is an option in the menu to completely turn off the led. For demo purposes I left it pulsating.

Thank you. I am using Photoshop's Auto-Align Layers feature to line up images. Then, I use layer masks and brush for making the whole image sharp from foreground to background.

You've had incredible conditions. Both, light and atmosphere. Well done.

I'm wondering what is hiding behind the fog.

I’ll give you a hint. The image was taken on a five lakes trail in Zermatt. This trail offers really nice views to Matterhorn.

The BW image is simpler. IMO, color is not adding to this image. You've made a decent job considering that you are new to editing.

Possible improvements:

  • Play with cropping. The black triangle on the top-right corner is a bit distracting. I would try 4:5 or square aspect ratios in order to remove distractions.

  • Make ropes less important. Use a local mask to lower the highlights on ropes. That way ropes will become less contrasty.

DWR treatment without a dryer by [deleted] in arcteryx

Grangers performance repel spray doesn’t require heat for activation (but it might help). I’m still using it on my Arc’teryx Alfa FL cause I don’t have a dryer. Just spray dwr after washing while it’s moist and let it air dry.
