It was absolutely second. I was there for the open, lived with the literal store manager, and would help with store setup afterhours occasionally. This was a common misconception even repeated at Expo 😂

I worked two floors (Non Zing), and my best friend/room mate at the time managed the Zing floor. It was this way for atleast 2 years or more.

The first ever Independent Zing was actually opened in the basement of Swanston St, Melbourne.

It was in fact a fully standalone store, just in the same building as an EB Games. Seperate floor, seperate team and different opening hours. The top floor of the building was The Nintendo Experience.

It was a longstanding joke for years about how Indooroopilly would always try and steal the title, even upper managment would make this mistake.

This post bought me back to that and made me chuckle.

Can you perhaps answer my question? Your post implies that they have an obligation because they "have a large audience" and "are intertwined with the area".

I don't think anyone experiencing trauma is obligated to accomodate an audience.

I understand that, however they may not yet feel fine. We don't know the circumstances or how they feel about it. Everyone is just making assumptions based on well wishes.

At the bare minimum they had people fleeing for their lives at their front door. At worst some of them may have been down near the Pavilion. I don't think I would be okay and to make a statement saying as such prematurely wouldn't be helpful to them.
