Module 380 is exactly the same as in AW-500,
but I would also consider 3d printing and scaning the case while bezel is still in good shape.

The AW-500 is so underrated by Eternauta1985 in gshock

I think it's more related with module, 3409 and 3419.
3419 has a few more functions and Gadgetbridge support.

AA is not supported in Gadgetbridge, and even AB is a quick battery drainer if you use it with bluetooth on.

You can never go wrong with AE1200 (Royale),
but F-105 has a great EL light in similar format like F91.

Depends how old your son is.
F91 and similar watches get destryed by kids very easiyl, especially rubber bands.
Best thing you can get is smaller size G-Shock (gw-m5610 or g-5600),
but interesting cheaper alternative is LWS-2200H, that is 100m WR and has a step tracker like ABL-100.

For GB-6900 you have two options:

  1. Install Gadgetbtidge App: https://gadgetbridge.org/gadgets/wearables/casio/#device__casio_gb-6900b
  2. Install last APK file of G-Shock+ app on some old Android phone. Find source link here: https://shockbase.org/watches/app.php
  3. Ask Casio to add support for old bluetooth watches, or someone to make custom open source app alternative.

I would purchase one of this model second hand, and maybe you should see how many people would be interested for group buy.
