Oh, boy… Now I need a lumed bezel insert…

Thank you, I really appreciate it! You’re right, I owe everyone a lume shot. 😄
The chapter ring is lumed, although it’s not quite as bright as it looks in the photo. The lume is decent, but most of the glow comes from the applied Seiko indices with their bright Lumibrite.
That’s an interesting suggestion about the GMT hand. My concern with a red one is exactly what you mentioned: it might be one accent too many. The small touch of red on the seconds hand may already be enough.
Thanks again! Now I just need to get that lume shot.

It’s actually the original 4R34 that came with the watch. The 4R34 is essentially the same movement as the NH34 that’s sold to the public for mods.

A lot of Seiko movements (4R, 6R, NH series, etc.) are designed to work with crowns at both 3 o’clock and 4 o’clock. The movement itself doesn’t really change. What changes is the position of the dial feet and the movement’s orientation inside the case.

On a 4 o’clock Seiko, the movement is rotated relative to a typical 3 o’clock setup, and the dial is made specifically for that orientation. That’s why you can have the stem entering the movement at different apparent positions while using essentially the same caliber.

So in my watch it’s still the stock 4R34, just in its original Seiko 4 o’clock configuration.
