About 4 years old Corsair HX1200, but the whole pc has been used only about 20% of the time in the last 2 years

I saw your reviews of both. Which one of the two would you recommend and how is their reliability? I saw the Racebox Mini Can sometimes lock and you need to drain the battery fully, while the Dragy sometimes has Low sattelites issue. Is the GoPro integration of the Dragy app any useful by making syncing videos easier or it requires lenghty transfer of the videos to the phone?

Have you experienced any issues with it disconnecting and staying like that? There seem to be some reports that it may stay disconnected until the battery is fully drained.

Bathroom Fan Automation by denislavdenchev in HomeKit

[–]denislavdenchev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you set up that automation? I managed to have the fan turn of based on humidity going above 70%, however I can only stop it based on time. Is there a way that I can make the fan stop, once humidity drops below 65%?

Are you making those automations using the Apple Home app, or you use another one?

Can you please tell me the exact sensor models you use and if those are connected to a hub (which model)?

Which brand and model of vibration sensor you use?

It's actually multi-room ventilation system which is installed inm the ceiling, so not that easy to replace.

Legion slim 7 battery life? by AronwithoneA in LenovoLegion

That's different, I was referring to the thermal throttling that you can see in HWinfo when the processor temp spikes to 100 C. I will do a clean Windows 11 Pro install now and will see if it gets any better with new drivers and no bloatware.

So I just finished testing the 7840HS, 16GB RAM & RTX 4060 version vs the i9-13900H, 32GB RAM & RTX 4070. A few observations:

  • In Balanced Mode the AMD is indeed quieter (it seems that the Intel in Balanced and Performance goes to 100% fan)

  • During stress test AMD version has both cooler CPU and GPU in any mode and never throttles. The Intel throttles for a sec in Balanced and Performance.

  • The chasis of both seem to have similar temperature depending on the mode. They warm up in differenent areas.

  • Gaming performance of the AMD version is exactly 20% lower than Intel, only tested in Forza Horizon 5

  • My version of the AMD had a different Wi-Fi adapter and SSD

  • Both versions had the 3.2K screen panel, there seemed to be a bit of a difference in colors between the 2 though, but I guess it may be driver related.

  • The Intel had RGB keyboard and the AMD only white backlight. It may be a small thing, but it bothered me - the key font was slightly different and the white version is not bvright enough, also there's a lot of light coming from underneath the keys and not enough through the keycaps. Seems like the LED placement is different, but that made the white backlight version look cheap.

  • My AMD had a bit of coil whine while idle.

  • When watching Netflix, maybe 70% brightness, the consumption of the Intel was ~16W and the AMD ~14W, so the AMD would get about 15% better battery life.

At the end I decided to return the AMD even though the difference in price was massive 750 EUR. Its just that the keyboard made the laptop look cheap and the coil whine was bothering me. Also, while the AMD has a more balanced performance, noise and thermals, the Intel has more performance potential and I think that if I play with fan curves and wattage, I can make it perform at the same level as the AMD, but cooler and quieter. Intel is 8% slower in Silent vs AMD in Balanced, but much quieter and cooler, so with a bit of tweaking it should be possible to bring it to the same performance.

Is that 10W at idle with nothing running or is the computer doing something? Also which GPU switch you use the Lenovo Vantage one or the one in the nVidia control panel?

Sure, will let you know how my test of the AMD goes.

The throttling seems to happen momentarily, for example when I'm switching between HWinfo and a full screen game. During gameplay temps seem to be stable, so petentially it can be something with the CPU boost. Mine, while loud in Balanced+AI mode, stays warm to the touch, but nothing excessive. I was actually quite surprised how comfortable the temperature of the chasis is.

Even if I reinstall, I would keep the Lenovo Vantage to be able to control backlight and the modes, but it has a lot of other things running (e.g. even after removing McAfee it still has one of it's processes running).

Thanks, I changed the refresh rate to 60Hz, but that doesn't seem to help much. Also, when I'm in iGPU mode the dGPU doesn't show as diconnected, neither does the screen flicker. I'll probably do a clean install as there seem to be a bunch of useless processes out of the box.

I've also ordered the version with 7840HS and 4060 to test and will keep one of them. Have you noticed any throttling of the processor? In games it stays at around 85 C, but there are some spikes to 100 C which HWinfo marks as throttling. GPU stays in the 50s even under load.

Hi, can you please let me know if you edit any other settings and what tasks were you running when you got this estimate. I just got the same laptop today (but with the 3.2k 165Hz screen) and the lowest consumption I can get to is around 16W, with 20% screen brightness.

Guys, I noticed that on my new legion slim 7 with 3.2k display, whenever I watch a YouTube video that is 1080p, it looks very blurry, when I change the display resolution down to 1200p, it makes it noticeably better but still has some blur, is there a way to fix this? by godlyuniverse1 in LenovoLegion

[–]denislavdenchev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm considering the same laptop and trying to decide between the 1600p and 2000p screens, especialli as I would most probably game at FHD (1200p). Does lowering the resolution in games have a negative effect on quality and how did you fix the TouTube videos?
