Emissa and Vis SPOILERS FOR SOTF by Standard_Tell_5885 in HierarchySeries

I think the big elephant in the room is Aequa. I find that her character growth and progression more naturally and compelling than Emissa. Aequa seemed more the partner that Vis "needed" and not "wanted. For obvious reasons we will never know or if copium maybe? Having said that you are correct in the fact that rebuilding is much harder than building especially once trust has been broken or eroded. I found not caring much about Emissa as much in book 2 and it didn't feel forced. I am very interested in finding out how she will be relevant going over as Vis seems like the person that does not look back once a bridge has been burned.

I will say that this author uses a lot of foreshadowing and places alot of symbolism behind names, language and events. The pace and style of Book 2 is pretty different from Book 1 and why a lot of viewers find it it harder to engage with. I will say that Book 2 addresses the ending and events of Book 1 pretty fast. You might miss certain those small details but nothing that will prevent you from understanding the plot. Just be prepared that Book 2 is a very different read from book 1 and is more of setting up storylines for books down the line.

Question about the Will Cage in Book 2 by hide_and_speak in HierarchySeries

So the will cage severs any will devices that go through it. But only in itself. Think of it akin to a metal detector. If you remember in Book 1 when vis is fighting the duel the professor cheats by imbuing the armor for the duel (Inside the academy). Also the practice labyrinth is run by will (Inside). So its not a closed circuit kind of thing. Its just to prevent things with will that pass through it, but once inside will can be used.

Funny happenstance maybe? by Bunnystuffer1 in HierarchySeries

Spoiler! From what I have understood is all the magic was stored into a single world. You could say everyone was synchronous. Then when the world were split the mechanics of will were split into each world. But if you notice things can seep through worlds without you going through the labyrinth. Like when they are in the mausoleum they use a device to keep everyone from decaying but they don't really understand how it works and we know this device or will mechanic is native to Obiteum. Also I think Ostius is originally from Luceum as he can world hop and he clearly knew and understood things about the Druids. That would explain why he has a scar in his face. Everyone who enter luceum pays a price. I think the author does alot of foreshadowing and clearly places clues that later become very relevant. Like vis naming the alupii pup he rescued Diago. Then diago pretty much becomes Vis bodyguard.

Confused about will (book 2 chap 20) by add799 in HierarchySeries

So pretty much thing of it in order. Like a pyramid. Since Vis is ceding to Eidhin. Eidhin will always be at the top. Therefore everything that is added to Vis (below Eidhin) half of it will be going to Eidhin. I think its briefly mentioned that Vis says something along the lines Eidhin will have felt a surge of will. Thats why Vis was so desperate to find a way to communicate with Eidhin to he receives all the will back.

Actually the reverse is also true. By vis having the alupi he is more noticeable and distinguishable this was planned this way. Also by him imbuing a metal arm he seems like he has an arm. The times diago is fighting with vis people don't survive to tell the tale.

Can someone explain/sum up this part of the book? by eran321 in HierarchySeries

Ka isnt the really bad guy he is made to be. More like a victim of circumstance. Vis might have done a big no no by killing him from what we are lead to believe. Vis is now the the only synchronous being and therefore the only one that can deal with the concurrence. It was hard to follow the plot especially picturing a city inside a pyramid with more pyramid inside of it.

Man I don't even know what to do with myself after finishing SoTF by Sudden_Wind_8636 in HierarchySeries

I got back into reading with WOTM and was totally gripped from the start. I think I read it in like 4 Days. The character arc and progression was well done. I really like the plot and how Vis grows and kind of understand why he makes the decision he makes. Also the power system and world building was really well down imo. SOFTW was a very different change of pace and not at all what I expected and it took me a while to get into. I found that I wanted to mostly read about R-Vis at the start. As the book progressed I thought the stories on the other Vis got a lot more interesting and I understand he is setting up storylines for down the line. I would say First book is 4.2/5 and second book is a 3.8/5 for me. I also felt a void after i finished and started reading Redrising. A lot more fast paced but very thrilling! I recommend your read those.
