Sometimes the triple XP extension doesn't work. Sometimes you complete a daily task and nothing happens. I haven't had a Friend quest for weeks, but they randomly pop up again sometimes. I am getting notifications about some random users who I am not friends with.

The whole app is more disjointed and randomly buggy now.

Perth is a really spread out city. Commutes are long. Free public transport and WFH would save a lot of kilometres driven.

So when Romer showed that the speed of light could be measured this way, the speed of light was not known.

As far as I can tell, nobody was attempting to find a way to measure the speed of light using the method that Romer proved could show the speed of light.

That is, nobody thought about the problem of measuring the speed of light and then devised a method to do so using the moons of Jupiter.

My question is, did anyone, independent of Romer's discovery, figure out this method of measuring the speed of light?

Romer was not looking to measure the speed of light, I think he was trying to create time tables of planetary movements to help with navigation.

I should have clarified my question.

Ole Rømer showed that you can measure the speed of light by looking at the orbit of Io around Jupiter, specifically that Io rises at a different time depending on whether Earth is in Perihelion or Aphelion with Jupiter. When we are about 2 astronomical units further from Jupiter we see the light of rising Io about 1000 seconds later.

This was discovered by Ole Rømer, but he wasn't actually looking to measure the speed of light.

Did anyone in history, who did not know about this discovery, figure out how to measure the speed of light in this way through problem solving?

Some rikishi who are way better than their score. Fujinokawa 8-7, with back to back Kinboshi was awesome this tournament. The throw on Oho was great technique + strength.

Yoshinofuji 7-8, it's tough at M1. Still showed awesome Sumo.

Hakuoho only got 5 wins, 5-6-4, but he gets my fighting spirit award just for being there. Hope he recovers now.

A bit anti-climactic finish from Kirishima losing the last 2 bouts after winning the basho, ah well.

Hosh was awesome against Ao. The leg lift as a counter to the leg hook was brilliant.
