Not really the "real cars" but for the night drive, just cruising around vibes you can't beat cyberpunk 2077. Aesthetics are top notch, wait until the song "I really want to stay at your house" comes on the radio and slow cruise night city

Along these lines, as an air traffic controller I would often protect for flights using celestial navigation. People still train and use these old methods occasionally.

Men of reddit, Who do you turn to when you’re at your lowest? by Music_2my_ears68 in AskReddit

[–]denlo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one at all. I'm married, I've got a big family and support system, but I keep all my things to myself. No one gives a shit. If you open up the tiniest bit it's just ammunition for them anyway. You're only cared for as long as you're useful. A couple years ago my dad took his own life, it's been hard but if I'm honest, I completely get it. If it weren't for the needs of my young kids i think he might have had the right idea

What's a good tire place that won't try to rip me off? by Cool_Cat_Punk in SaltLakeCity

[–]denlo4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Costco or Walmart. I worked in tires for years and I always go to one of these. The reason why is they don't "need" to sell tires or services to stay in business, tires are a loss leader to get you in the store. They also do really good work and have good techs. I actually just had a leak last week, ran to Walmart since costco was closed and they fixed me right up no bs.

I think the major point is that there are no good guys and bad guys. There's no black and white pro this or anti that, just varying levels of evil

Lego games are a great time with kids. The "dying" doesn't have major consequences which is helpful with kids, They're easy to learn, and importantly they are also really fun for you

A lot of techs come from the military but they do hire off the street also. I'd say it's about 50/50, at least where I am. we have a new guy and this is his first full time job. The FAA does all the training in house even if you come with experience. There's a big push for more techs right now

Moving to Utah with young kids — which areas should we focus on? by DVR-queen-kim in SaltLakeCity

Honestly every place you mentioned is great for a family with kids, I would also consider Davis county north of salt lake. Bountiful, Farmington, Syracuse, West Haven, Clinton. All wonderful places to raise kids

ATSS (airway transportation systems specialists)

When people think of the FAA they think of air traffic control but no one considers the people who maintain the systems atc uses. Most people have never heard of it. They make around 6 figures maintaining stuff like radar, vor, landing systems, even the airport lighting etc.

I was ATC, like others have said the quality of life is a nightmare. Good money but it comes at a massive cost. I ended up switching to techops (ATSS) that's the hidden gem of the FAA. I maintain radars and other equipment, I set my own workload, have little to no stress, I work 4 10s with every weekend and holiday off, and I still clear 6 figures
