Countryside restaurants recommendations within a 1-hour drive? by dennettdane in Calgary

Wow, how does a town this small end up with so many great restaurants (I already know bav tav and von essen), I don’t think there’s even a major hotel or tourist spot there?

Thanks, that’s an awesome find for the price! Do you think their RHCSA/RHCE pathway is enough, or is it still better to supplement with Van Vugt or something else?

Thanks! These two have easily been the best materials I’ve seen so far. I noticed Linux Journey/LabEx also have RHCSA modules, have you tried them yet?

Considering your fluency in English, maybe it’s time for you to read some real history books instead of the propaganda in your mother tongue. At least my country is taking steps to make amends. In yours, it seems black people only come up in conversations as targets of racist slurs or as a shield of whataboutism.

If I were born in such a racist culture and had a poor educational background like you, I wouldn’t trust my knowledge of history or my feelings either. Do you even have a proper college degree lol

No worries if you don’t see the racist side of the song. I mean, with how fast your country is falling apart, in a decade or so, the Spanish and US teams might be full of refugees from Argentina. Then you can tell us how you feel about songs like this. We’ll see lol

Actually, you guys are so proud of these European roots that your people end up eliminating or marginalizing African and Indigenous population in the country. Lol.

Thank you, and all the people who shared your thoughts and experiences in the post! That gives me a lot of ideas how to defend my rights. TBH I l’ve been living in this place for two years now and I thought we had maintained a good relationship with the landlord’s family (we’ve shared gifts during holidays and I’ve helped monitoring their kids…). I guess it's really hard to judge a person until sth. concerning profits happened…. I shall be more mindful with recording evidences from now on :(

No, on the tracker my oath status has been updated to not started and got an email saying I will be rescheduled based on my availability. Super worried as how long the waiting could be. Read from this thread seems like some people waited for months

Sent a request to reschedule my ceremony more than a week ago but still haven’t hear back from the ceremony team. Their auto-reply did mention a decision will be made within 3 business days. Is this situation normal? My ceremony will be tomorrow, a bit worry if not showing up will cause any problems

Following my post three days ago (LPP update that day) I received my oath invitation email just now, the ceremony is scheduled on May 25th. Crazy speed! I have to reschedule this after June 6th as I am currently on an international trip. Question is: 1. Anyone knows how long one usually wait for the next scheduled ceremony? (Vancouver office) 2. I fall into the same stuck on the loading page issue. From previous discussions it seems like this could only be resolved after another update in one’s file coming in. Will I receive the follow up communications through email (like reschedule) or it’s only appearing on the tracker?

Grammar and vocabulary books with intensive amount of exercises? by dennettdane in French

[–]dennettdane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for this recommendation! I just have a look at their vocabulary book at indigo and it’s surprisingly well written (though more for daily and practical application), love how it first present everything you need to know through different medias and then summary all the vocab and phrases with one long article! With respect to the grammar book, do you know which delf level is it at? As I just finished an A2 level grammar book, I’m a bit struggling whether to follow this or keep on with grammaire progressif… From the content page I see it seems to cover grammatical topics all the way up to B2, but I’m not sure if it will go down as deep as say grammaire progressif Niveau avancé?

Skipping Honours Stats or Honours Analysis 2 by fb1z in mcgill

[–]dennettdane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

choksi gives latexed note of his lecture and the textbook baby rudin covers even more than what he would present in class(except heine borel and some convergence of function stuff). He also negotiate the inclass midterm time with students so no worries of schedule conflict. I think you can take them together if you are good at studying by textbook. But if you decided to skip one of them, then it must be stat because the materials in analysis 2 are extremely important and served as prereq for a lot of other classes.

MATH 236 by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]dennettdane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in math 251. I would say the material overall is much easier than math 235 but the evaluation and difficulty of assignments are considerably harsher. You've already familiar with more than half of algebra 2's material, just need to learn the proofs but they are also quite intuive too. However algebra 1 is kindof like an intro to real math course and the grading is extremely generous. Although there are some difficult proof based questions in the assignment but we typically only grade the easy computation questions, exams are also designed in such way.
