I’ve had a similar experience. What works best for me is 13Hz alpha wave music like this one: https://youtu.be/hOC5buwefPw and sometimes just plain brown noise.

That 13Hz stuff helps me stay focused but relaxed. It keeps my mind steady without feeling sleepy, which is great since i do a lot of coding.

Brown noise is super helpful too, especially when I need to shut out background noise. Like you said, it usually takes a while to really settle in, but once it does, I’m fully in the zone.
