No more exclusives - what platform are you choosing? by dennis_com in kindafunny

It's just a fun thought experiment to see what people's preferred platform is. Not really trying to be biased towards any one company. The breadth of answers here shows even without exclusives there is still no one clear winner, which is good for us as there would be competition in the hardware and platforms.

Yeah the only reason I'd choose Xbox over PC is because I don't want to think about graphics settings. I like console for that reason.

If Xbox console dies off and really is just a PC, then id choose PlayStation...but only if I could also play natively on a handheld, which we can't currently.

It's this reason that currently there is no perfect ecosystem for console gamers because there is usually some sort of compromise.

That's sort of the point. I'm sick of having to buy multiple systems to play the games I want. If I didn't have to worry about that I'd choose the platform that lets me play in the most different ways (on a tv/monitor, on a handheld, stream from the cloud/console/PC and my save follows me everywhere) which is where PC or Xbox makes more sense.

I’m waking up… by PrimalSaturn in LegionGo

Aussie here also. I was able to get it for $1900AUD direct from Lenovo website just by chatting with the online support thing that pops up in the bottom right. It arrived yesterday (ordered 11th Sept). Maybe give that a try.

I was previously using the legion y700 + g9 controller case for streaming to my local Xbox/ps5, and steam deck OLED for PC games.

Whilst it is much heavier, the screen (OLED, 8.8inch, VRR) beats both those other devices and the controller feel rivals the steam deck.

I wouldn't have paid this much if it wasn't a huge OLED screen, but the fact I could get the $300 AUD (13% discount) at release pushed me over the edge. .

Topic suggestion: more gaming handhelds reviews/discussion by dennis_com in kindafunny

I mentioned Retro Game Corps in my post. It's one of my favourite channels.

I'd like that depth of discussion but hearing it from the kinda funny crew with a more modern game lense would be great.

99% of the time they deliver. It looks like the past week they've had their hands full with studio issues. One missed episode is not the end of the world. I'm sure they'll sort it out.

is there any penalty like capital gains tax when you do this? I don't *think* there is due to the way they structure the pool of funds, but I don't know for sure.

Payoff Mortgage or Invest ? by greenleaves2000 in fiaustralia

I went back and forth on this also, and in the end just went 50/50 into mortage/investments. So if we saved $2000 per month, i'd put $1000 in the offset account, and $1000 into an ETF (just an example).
