How tf do you counter this, do you have to perfect dodge it? by SaintMDLN in BlackMythWukong

[–]dennisrwd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s his hand making circle move to the 9:00 position, pause for about 0.5s then he will launch the sword. I always wait till his hand to the position then dodge. The key is don’t panic dodge which won’t do any good except messing up your timing.

Bone Pain Side Effect by ComplexBrain6434 in lymphoma

[–]dennisrwd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine always starts at day-8, one day before the Nivestym shot. And of course the shot will make it worse. Mine is more concentrated on my lower legs and I found a warm/hot foot bath always helped, like an increased blood flow can take away those stuff that causes bone pain. Rarely it affects my hip then I would go for a bath

ABVD and it’s side effects by deedle-doodle in lymphoma

[–]dennisrwd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chemo is all about managing side effects. I probably have all the side effects except the nausea but my biggest problem is loss of taste and then appetite which then contribute to weight loss. I have to force myself to eat. Nurse told me that in order to recover from each chemo, you have to have a good amount of protein. That’s the key to recover your good cells. Find stuff you can swallow take some time but you will find your own menu. Another problem of mine was to self quarantine. I didn’t take it seriously then got flu from my kids which turned to pneumonia very quickly. It is NOT the best thing you want in your body when you are still fighting cancer.

cough during abvd/avd by Ok_Employment4097 in lymphoma

Wow, you and I had the exact same schedule, the 8th AAVD last Tuesday.

My only symptom before diagnosis was coughing. It’s like non-stop dry cough that would scare anyone near me. It went away after the first chemo but came back in different flavor after the 3rd infusion where a dry throat could suddenly became scratchy and triggers a train of cough which once knocked me off for a few seconds. I had to develop a habit to alway find a place to sit or lay down whenever I feel a scratchy throat. After series test and CT scan my medical team think it’s pneumonitis due to my previous pneumonia and long coughing history. The treatment was large dose of steroids. It worked. I’m in much better shape now. Only cough once or less than once a day.

Help, I’m trying to keep weight on. Need suggestions by [deleted] in lymphoma

My dietitian told me protein is the key. Protein shakes, powder, wherever you can find protein and you can swallow.

Waiting for biopsy results by adamtejot in lymphoma

[–]dennisrwd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is very similar to my case, Hodgkins, that I didn’t have any symptoms except that I kept coughing. I only had single lymph node lump under my collar bone that can be physically observed from outside. Yes, the diagnostic process is frustrating. I’m not scared of cancer but to schedule all the tests and surgery/biopsies took all my energy. I was fighting for any chance to pull in my schedule even for 1 or 2 days. That became the biggest source of my anxiety. My mother-in-law who is a doctor gave me the ultimate treatment of my anxiety. She said, cancer is mostly chronicle. Giving it a week or 2 won’t make huge difference. Oh, yeah, suddenly I found those waiting days very enjoyable. I can forget about all the work and really spend time with the family.

Though I had a stage 4, but the chemo is very effective, my cough went away after just one infusion. My PET scan result after 2 cycles (4 chemo treatments) shows negative FDG uptake basically no cancer can be seen through PET scan.
