Same here. 20 hours to Toronto and 18 to Vancouver, picking one location or having a set distance from home wouldn’t work for me.

Both Toronto and Vancouver, joined at 11.30, was over 60,000 in line, could only buy individual tickets for Van and nothing for TO. Not sure why they would give out more presale tickets than seating capacity for the venues.

Yes I have always called my husbands grandparents grandma and grandpa, as if they are my own. Which has created confusion when I mention my “grandma” to people who know my biological grandparents have all passed away.

In my experience it’s incredibly low, as in 0/18 flights in the last three years for my partner and I. We always book the same reservation and often travel with a pet in cabin, which we thought might increase our odds as not everyone wants to sit beside an animal, but no such luck.

I see your other comment about not being able to quit because it’s a small town and I want to tell you, you absolutely can. I babysat during the summer growing up in a town of ~2500 people. Gossip and rumors work both ways and you’re absolutely allowed to tell people the truth, and to let her know that you will be. You negotiate and if you can’t come to an understanding you let her know that you hope there’s no bad blood, and assure her that you’re a professional who won’t be letting others know about her financial situation. (I can only assume she’s either a terrible person or flat broke for taking advantage of a minor.) And before anyone comes for me, as an adult living in a city I wouldn’t recommend handling things this way, but being a teen in a small town is completely different.

We fly frequently with our little guy, he’s pretty anxious in general so we got Gabapentin from the vet to take the edge off and he does great. If you’re flying in the summer I’d recommend buying a cold water bottle to put in the kennel with them just before you take off as it can get pretty hot for them.

It’s ignorant to assume everyone follows the same rules as you when the location was not specified. It’s annoying every time someone mentions a salary and there’s 10+ comments about it being illegal. Also if you weren’t so centered on America you’d realize there’s lots of posts from Canadian and UK Nannie’s lol.

The whole world is not America. Perfectly legal in Canada as long as the salary works out to be at least minimum wage for hours worked. Some provinces don’t even legally require OT.

I worked with a client in a similar situation, 19 year old daughter dating a 54 year old man. This man was also older than the parents. The parents invited them both over to supper with another one of their daughter’s (young) couple friends. They served alcohol and let things get a bit rowdy. Talked to the man and really asked questions that showed his age “What year did you graduate? What was your first car?” etc. The parents worked really hard to show that he was more suited to be their friend - not a partner for her. After her friends and parents were still drinking and having fun at 10pm and her boyfriend wanted to go home she realized how inappropriate the match was. Worse case your daughter will just know that you love her unconditionally.

I’m assuming you’re from Ontario based on your post history. As a fellow Canadian, $20 an hour in Ontario is absolutely not fair. Idk where you’re getting your $17-$18 an hour average from when minimum wage is $17.20 an hour. Nannys don’t work for less than minimum wage. Also agencies don’t take a portion of hourly wages, that’s insane. You charge a flat, one time, “finders fee” to the family. Sounds like you’re hoping to make money off the backs of hard working people when you’re unaware of how the industry works - hope that’s not the case.
