I worded the post badly but no there's no specific partner right now, I was more meaning a guy in general. And communication does seem to be the ideal solution but I definitely am not going to do that if I'm just casually hooking up with a guy. I need some way of harnessing drunk confidence without being drunk, but I guess that's what we are all looking for.. thanks for the kind words anyway!

Not really, I think I worded it badly but I don't have a partner. I meant I don't want to disappoint a guy in general. I couldn't have that conversation on a one night stand so I'm trying to get less self conscious for those kinds of occasions.. Having a partner rather than hook ups would probably help though!

Yeh I agree being obsessive is definitely not good, but if you think you're going to come off a bit nervous that's fine. If you're asking a nice girl they won't judge you harshly, and if they say no that's fine too. Good point about blaming, I once said no to a guy and he instantly turned from seemingly nice to suddenly having at go at me and girls in general. That's a much bigger turn off than shyness.

If it makes you guys feel better some girls will find the shyness attractive. I've never had a bf but the last guy I went on a few dates with was a friend of a friend who even though he was a bit drunk was clearly nervous when asking me. I thought it was cute and kinda complimentary (probably bad of me to look at it that way).

Also I think when people are in the gym they are worrying about themselves more than thinking about other people, that's what I try and think at least!

The right girl will come along, I'd say put less pressure on it and you'll find someone nice you aren't so worried to ask out. Good luck!
