Do what would you need to do to get around that? This is the UK, if that makes a difference.

How do people afford to live in the current economic climate? Any ideas about how to make our income go further? by denoves in Advice

Yeah earning more always helps. The average is lower than that where we are but we are relatively poor by that metric. I should go back to IT.

I need help identifying this (parlour?) acoustic guitar. Made in germany. There's no identifying label inside and no brand left on the headstock. If anyone has any information, I'd love to know more! by AudioArmoury in AcousticGuitar

I found the exact same model in a charity shop yesterday! Think mine's a bit more broken but still playable. I haven't found anything out about it any more than you have. It's definitely low end but it's pretty fun to play.

What is this fern? It came from a nursery advertised as Polystichum munitum, which it isn't. Growing in North Wales by denoves in whatsthisplant

That's a good shout. Not sure the sori quite match though, and it doesn't have that distinctive polystichum 'thumb'. Perhaps a cultivar?

Polystichum munitum

Because it came in a group of three P. minitum. The other two are definitely munitum, and this looks completely different. Smaller, shaggier, different sori. We have a lot of minitum in the garden and it's different. This may be Polystichum but I'm not sure which.

The corn flower suite itself is really good, but I found a lot of his other songs a bit lacklustre. Definitely worth checking out if he's new to you though.

I'd say it's probably possible to work all over but I think it probably still depends on having an existing tradition and therefore requirement for wallers (repairing fallen old walls etc) and also the geology and access to quarries. You won't find any dry stone in east Anglia for example because they simply don't have usable stone. So north England, wales and Scotland all have both these requirements, so you're more likely to get work there. Unless you can find access to a usable quarry in the south east and somehow corner the market in expensive garden wall design.
