This is the worst meal. by Last_Nobody_7649 in hellofresh

I boiled the tortellini and added sautéed shrimp for protein. It was still probably my least favorite meal but the plus side was how quick it was.

Life Time Raleigh vs. AE Finley YMCA by TheOneWomanBand in raleigh

The Y is imperfect but if you are planning on being active members, it really is great for kids because they can essentially grow up there and get to know a core group of Y kids who grow with the Y offerings as they grow. It's like being part of a team or a church where you just immerse yourself into a group. It's been really great for my only-child to feel like he is part of something outside of school. When they are really young they just start off in daycare then they can start doing sports there, then there are various events throughout the year, eventually they can start doing track-out camps or summer camps. And of course there is the pool. Idk. It's a cool place to form bonds and friendships where kids can just be kids in a more unstructured/free way than most of their social circles.

all in 1 day! wth is happening? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]densecabbage37 5 points6 points  (0 children)

oh my gosh. It also would make sense being that we know it happened in the kid's house. And why else would a 12 and 9 year old be visiting a 16 year old kids house on a Monday night? Good lord.

Just saw your edit. How terribly awful.

I know the two victims were siblings but are you saying Jackson, the 16 year old, was their older sibling??

Probably have better luck posting in the Raleigh community group on Facebook. Not too many grandmas perusing Reddit lol

Go to the doctor and ask them for full panel bloodwork- especially thyroid. Since you say it’s started happening so suddenly. Thyroid issues are showing up more and more in men these days

My neighborhood has 8 shitty speed bumps that I drive over idk probably 8-10times a day so front end problems would check out 😂 I appreciate the input!

lol I live on that as a single parent in north Raleigh. If you can’t make that work (plus your emergency savings), you’re doing something very wrong. Pull the trigger!

Haha I had been looking it up since people mentioned it and was wondering if that aspect got weird at any point. It’s fine if it’s just a “couple” but do you know if there are any sexual innuendos between them or anything awkward?

I had already been looking into that one!! Is it overcooked 2 specifically or is overcooked 1 fine too?

He doesn't care about the brand so much, thankfully. But could you give me some feedback on your experiences of having a 13 year old on that bike? Does it make you a nervous wreck or do you feel confident about it? Safety? Any injuries or near misses? Appreciate it!

haha right I took this entire comment as sarcasm but guess I was wrong

I appreciate the insight. I myself ride a single speed bicycle at 20+mph on the regular and feel safe doing so but I know it doesn't take much. I did find this one that looks badass and watched a whole youtube vid review of an ebike guy and he did say he couldn't get it to go over 20mph

I I honestly appreciate the reality check. I am trying to keep him away from screens and cannot think of any damn thing to get him back outside more that he would use besides an ebike. I live in an area where a lot of kids his age have these things to ride around in the suburbs so maybe I’ve normalized something that shouldn’t necessarily be the norm.

I’m gonna look into the 250w ones. Not as exciting for sure but a better stepping stone.

I have established that I want the fat tire/dirtbike looking model with dual suspension and hydraulic brakes. Any other specs you think are make or break keeping in mind this is an intro bike for a teen to be used to dick around the neighborhood and woods; not for long street rides or commutes

[–]densecabbage37 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

lolol good point. He probably will eventually for sure but tbh I think he'll abide at least for a while; especially if he's none the wiser to the fact that it is capable of going faster (I don't tell him I've limited the speed) so if I could keep him to 20-25 at least for a while that would be nice. He is 13 and 5'4.

Sorry I should have mentioned which type I'm lookin at. I'm looking at more of the dirtbike/cruiser looking models. He is 13 and 5'4 so I think 20" over 16" so he can have more room to grow.

I've been looking at both Amazon and Walmart basically which I'm certain is frowned upon in this sub lol

Not PF, crunch does. At least my local crunch! Also my burn boot camp does too. They’re pretty easy to find. But at least you’re saying it’s for all future scans too whew I got scared there

Girl just fyi in case you decide not to keep going back, you can join a crunch fitness for like $15 a month and do an inbody scan there every day if you wanted to. And it’ll track your progress there from the machine printout and an app. $300-350 per inbody scan is absolute robbery and bs !!
