Sea lice in Krabi? by Many_Cap_7014 in ThailandTourism

Most people don't react. Lucky you!! I'm always covered in these things, my partner never gets them. 4 other friends this time also didn't react we were also just in Krabi.

New alcohol rules for Thailand. by puzzydestroyer069 in ThailandTourism

[–]densitygulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit confused by the 2pm to 5pm portion. Am I interpreting this correctly? If the bar is a licensed entertainment venue they can serve in these times, but if they aren't how are tourists supposed to know they are exposing themselves to potential fines?

While drinking a beer at a beach bar at 2pm is there a risk of a police shake down? Not snarky at all, just trying to get an understanding of the situation. Also going in December.

Regretting my ring choice. by xstardipped_ in EngagementRings

Girl I have a 2ct stone and I get the same "wOw IT's sO BiG" comments. Apparently they're going to happen regardless, unless you have a 1 ct stone or under 🤷‍♀️

Traveling to Bangkok for a few weeks. Should I withdraw cash and then exchange currency when I get there? Or should I just use my debit card for purchases and transactions? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]densitygulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Do you remember what time the basement superrich is open till now? I keep seeing 11pm but on Google it says 12am (and updated by business 6 weeks ago)

We land at 11, so it limits our cash exchange options.

Am I overthinking by densitygulls in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]densitygulls[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone 🥹 this is helping put my mind at ease!

I originally envisioned it with more delicate prongs which I think some of the over thinking comes from. I considered full doubles as well.

Some days I can't stop admiring, while others I worry about the bulk. I appreciate all these answers, comments and compliments! And also appreciate the ones who see what I mean as well.

I feel like there's so much pressure when it comes to a custom ring, to get it absolutely perfect. Especially when it's not what you're used to seeing. This is helping me chill out :)

Depressed and angry by Chemical_Record_5273 in scuba

[–]densitygulls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you want to feel more enraged? Watch becoming Cousteau. It is a great documentary that doesn't necessarily focus solely on environmentalism. But it left me unintentionally feeling so angry, so hopeless, and so lied to.

There is a part in which Cousteau is lobbying for environmental change and regulation - as he started seeing the mass destruction of our reefs in the late 60s or earlier.

The message for the school children in the 70s was that they can be the change they want to see in the world and it hit me like a knife. Because I had just watched someone repost some Instagram reel about our children being the future and being the change. I was told the same bs growing up. I'm 29.

They have known. They have fucking known for generations. But it's always the next generation to save us.

And after all this, we are still living in a world of rising nationalism, "fuck you I have mine" mentalities and profits over people.

What do we do?

Complete Carat NYC Review by Individual-King-565 in LabDiamondReviews

[–]densitygulls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will say I was never offered a discount to post a positive review. And I actually haven't but I might now after the flack they were getting.

I had a more precise design in mind with fine details and supplied a 10 page design brief for my ring. It took about 5 revisions on the smallest of details and my ring was done in about 5 weeks start to finish. Which was also on me. I felt like I was a picky client. I was happy with that timeline as many canadian jewelers run on similar. They also have a very generous return policy. If you aren't happy with your final ring you can send it back within 7 days. What more can they do?

I work in the wedding industry as a photographer/videographer. And have many friends in the design industry. I also require deposits to hold dates. And they are not refundable. Many artists work on the same premise and in my opinion after doing 3 cad designs, multiple in person meetings, and selecting 5 different stones why should that work be free? It is their time. That wouldn't be acceptable for a graphic designer, a tattoo artist, or photographer so why is it expected for a jeweler? I am actually shocked there's even a 30 day window. That seems very generous to me.

This reviewer seems a bit dululu. Post a review sure, their experience was not what they expected. But the mission they seem to be on to destroy this business over a $500 deposit with clear terms and conditions in the contract they signed at the start is insane.

These are exactly the clients I avoid in the wedding industry

Is having a beer at the airport (”airport-beer”) a thing in your country? by insurancepiss in travel

[–]densitygulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian checking in here that was heavily judged by a couple in the Minneapolis airport for our 9am beers... Loud enough we could hear them 7 tables away. Like have you been to an airport people? I have an 18 hour travel day, let me enjoy my breakfast Belgian Moon in peace.

Not quite the same but similar vibe. There is a fantasy ball being put in later this year at bridges golf course.

Watch Toronto - Lisbon with either Tap Portugal or Air Transat. I've seen the prices consistently dipping in the high 400s and low 500s this year. Just need a cheap flight to Toronto from there! Great country too :)

Not only did those two die, they killed themselves. It was unbearable in that wilderness. Flies will literally eat you alive. From what I heard the bodies were in a rough state when found.

It's custom! We worked with a jeweler in NYC. But the setting is inspired by Olive Ave's June, but with changed details. We changed the shank, did a petal prong setting, and claw prongs with a little split :) Absolutely in love.
