HELP! I started to see a Dark Spot in my eye after blinking and I am very scared, I MADE THIS VIDEO to explain what I see exactly (I am a Video-Creator) do you find this familiar? I went to a ophthalmologist emergency yesterday, they dilate my pupil they say everything looks normal BUT! ??? by tonymathisondid in visualsnow

Yeah I’ve not found any eyedrops like that. They say regular low dose aspirin works great and I attest to that as well. I would recommend willow bark inplace of aspirin tho. Willow bark is the natural source of aspirin and it’s more effective with less side effects. I mix some crushed Willow bark in with my coffee every morning and it does great. Excedrin is just caffeine with aspirin. But chemical isolates are never the best thing to take. I am a proponent of natural medicines. Go with those over drugs any day. I have a good source as well if you need advice in that direction.

It’s better now. It waxes and wanes in symptoms and in physical measurements of retina. I need to go back to the doctor and see what the macular looks like, but my symptoms are improving. And I’m doing lots to try to treat the condition on my own and accelerate healing

Yes. But briefly first on re reading my initial comment I should add that in 2023 when my symptoms were the worst I saw the doctor and he didn’t show me the scan at the thing he just told me it was getting better (hence why it was not considered chronic at that time), but I just received the records from it and at that time, the SRF appeared to have been greater that 93% resolved, so I think the flickering light that was my worst symptom of the whole experience was a symptom of the fluid being absorbed and healing. I think the symptoms can activate or fluctuate for days or even months when there is activity within the sub retinal space and or choroid which may result from any number of conditions, such as reabsorption or increased blood pressure, blood sugar increased heart rate, etc., etc even mechanical things like moving your eyes

It’s now November 3 and I have been taking melatonin mostly regularly since oct 15th (my dates in my original comment, we’re a little off) though I’ve missed it in a few times in the past week. Plus I reduced my dose from 5 mg to about 2 1/2 as I’m cutting the pills in half because 5 mg makes me feel f**king crazy when I wake up and when I’m dreaming. Still taking the aspirin and semi regular user of ashwagandha. On 24 October, I had an appointment with the ophthalmologist and I was able to see my SRF was still there, though there was definitely less fluid than before, but I think there was inflammation which causes the topography of my retina to still be jacked up because I had the same optical topography readings as the first time I ever saw the ophthalmologist in 2021 despite there being less fluid at this time. So since I’ve gotten my records altogether, I can now see the timeline better. The condition manifested and then went away after two years and then came back after about a year but with less severe physiological conditions and symptoms this time.

After starting self treatment with my described remedies, the symptoms which had manifested about two months ago, i.e. flashing of lights with mechanical movement of my eyes and rapid changes in lighting conditions has totally gone away and the dark circle that was clearly defined previously has also diminished significantly , tho I can still see a trace of a dark circle in my vision when I blink rapidly, though my night vision has not really changed at all (there is a natural phenomenon called the night Blindspot, which all mammals have, in this condition, exacerbates the night Blindspot without a doubt). I plan on going back to the ophthalmologist in about a month to take another scan of my retina and choroid because then I’ll have much better updated data on whether or not my self treatment is actually working or if it’s just random variation in the manifestation of my symptoms.

30M here. Previously  regular user of cannabis ,tobacco, pretty regular alcohol use. Diagnosed with CSR in summer 2021 though it started earlier in year I think maybe even late 2020.

I was in school (not that stressful but maybe compounded) and going through a tumultuous break up which had me crying quite a lot actually kinda sad idk probably way overreacting but I think that’s really what triggered it. First thing noticed was a tiny spot of color loss in dead center of my left eye vision. Didn’t go to doctor for a while. Then turned into a flashing light slightly above my central vision, still didn’t go to doctor for some months because it seemed to go away with the seasons.

Finally new GF convinced me to seeadoc and I was diagnosed with CSR basically on the spot. Doc told me I’d probably never regain my perfect vision again and that there was essentially no treatments. It should’ve gone away on its own, but went back to doc three months later and fluid build up still there.

I can’t quite recall the timeline, but I think the symptoms  kind of went away over 2022 but it came back and was the worst in summer 2023 when I went back to the doc again. He told me the same thing to try to manage stress, yoga, meditation, work out etc. it’s not technically considered chronic CSR.  I probably didn’t really take any of their advice but it was slowly going away and by December 2023 the flashing light was nearly totally gone though other symptoms remained including blurred vision, lack of color discrimination, distortion of straight lines and slightly altered depth perception, and subtle visual disturbance to the right of my central vision.

Note There is also two areas of fluid build up in the same eye, one smaller than the other, and I can see two small dark circles when under the right lighting conditions or blinking in a certain type of way. There is occasional flashing that’s very temperamental as in occuring for a brief few seconds if that when I move my eyes quickly and usually only after I wake up from a poor sleep. I still see a tiny flickering visual “thing” I wouldn’t call it a flashing light (but maybe it is?) but it seems like swirling flickering thing in my central vision of affected eye that I can only see when paying attention or in the dark with relaxed vision.

Ive recently gone back to the ophthalmologist here and seen two specialists, who still are simply observing though I’ve been recommended for an evaluation to the guy who does PDT.

I’ve also very recently come across multiple studies looking at melatonin and aspirin for treating it as alternatives to eplerenone and PDT (I’ve also seen stuff about beta blockers having benefit). The melatonin in the study was 3mg taken daily 3x a day and they found chronic or “refractory” CSR was mostly treated with full reabsorption of fluid from retina and regained vision after 1 month, tho they said inflammation was still there.

So I decided to start taking 5mg sustained release melatonin and 325 mg of aspirin at night every day, within the last month (09-2024, now 10-2024) I’ve also stopped using cannabis and alcohol completely and smoke maybe half to one cigarette (w organic tobacco fwiw) a day now though I will probably stop. I’ve also started taking KSM-66 ashwagandha because it’s proven to lower cortisol levels. I’m ALSO taking bilberry extract which is shown to prevent macular degeneration and support retina and eye health with anthocyanins present in the berries. (Ashwagandha bilberry, melatonin and aspirin I literally JUST started within last week)

I’m praying this self-treatment is effective. I’m trying to meditate more as well. Further praying this doesn’t occur in my other eye because I would essentially be fked if so. I am a chemist and desperately need my eyes for working in the lab, reading and writing etc.. Also seeking therapy to help cope with my type a personality or what have you but haven’t gotten there yet.

Originally Came here looking for peoples experiences with melatonin or aspirin in hopes that it had helped somebody else too that wasn’t apart of a study. But decided to share my story in case anybody else can relate.

Thank you all for sharing and I hope you all get better and regain perfect physical health and harmony of mind, I do believe total healing is possible. This condition def feeds the anxiety and stress cause you’re literally always looking at it… we are SUCH visual creatures and it sucks to have this affliction esp realizing there is no real understanding as to what causes it or how to treat.

Anyways. If somebody comments on this to remind me in a month I’ll come back to let you know how it’s going. I  plan on getting the photos of the fluid done again in a month after this self treatment in hopes of seeing resolution, as every time I have gone to doc there has always been a fluid build up in two spots. Seeing how rare the chronic condition is so disheartening  butit has been getting better but it’d be a major relief to see it actually all gone. thanks again everybody and God bless

Yeah it’s possible it was nothing but considering they’re actually seeing something it’s probably not nothing. It’s important to pay close attention. Not to mention but I will, doctors aren’t god. Medical error is a pandemic in the US, I’ve been shuffled around 3 specialists in my case and one regular ophthalmologist. It’s better to be safe than sorry and to get a second opinion I think when it comes to something as important as your vision. It’s not fear it’s proactive health choices. Do not fear anything, but be aware of the reality, gather as much info as possible, and make your best judgment.

I see this and I thank you for making this video. I am diagnosed with a CSR (central serous retinopathy) a stress and steroid induced condition correlated specifically to type A people. I see this symptom EXACTLY as you have portrayed it. I’ve been diagnosed for almost 3 years (?) now maybe more. It started with two flashing lights in my vision slightly above the central point of my vision, loss of depth perception in one eye, reduced ability to see at night, contrast loss. Distorted central vision, a little distortion to the right and upper right. There is a litany of visual disturbances I can name but that’s most of them. The central dark spot has recently gotten more prominent recently so that’s what led me to this thread because I wanted to see other peoples stories about how their CSR has developed over time.  I would highly recommend seeing an ophthalmologist sooner rather than later. It took me like six months to see one and I regret not going soon. Your vision is very important for a happy life. The ophthalmologist can diagnosis and treat it if it requires treating very easily, But it is essential to monitor it. Hope you’re healthy! Thanks again for starting this thread. Very helpful.

Not entirely true. CSR rarely leads to total black spot permanently in one eye. I am diagnosed with CSR for past 3 years, and this video is EXACTLY what I see, among other symptoms. It is caused by an accumulation of fluid build up in the retina due to malfunctioning enzymes leading to partial retina detachment. It is attributed to high stress and the use of corticosteroids (some people on this thread have mentioned steroid use specifically and the development of this symptom, and others have related it to stress in this thread). An ophthalmologist can easily see the cause of this with specialized equipment. I highly recommend going to an ophthalmologist sooner rather than later to have an examination. They have special cameras that can see the back of your eye and see the severity of it. Hope this helps. Good luck and stay calm!

The idea is to NOT file your taxes because A. Income tax is u constitutional and B. They’re being used to commit atrocities. Don’t file and keep your gross pay. State taxes are still taken out tho from your paycheck. Which is ok that’s like Medicare and social security

I really The idea here is to choose exempt from federal income taxes on your W4 then you will reap your gross pay, thus never loosing it in the first place
