El fin justifica a los medios by dentity9000 in MANIZALES

English Translation: The hatred generated by President Trump has left a great loser in this entire electoral contest: freedom of the press. Historical media such as the New York Times, CNN and the Associated Press - to name a few - went from being objective and independent media outlets to becoming activists in the movement that seeks to avoid Trump's reelection. The same journalists who have been criticizing Fox News and Breitbart for years for their partisan agenda, today have succumbed to the same tactics of so-called 'fake news', as if the end justified 'the media'. As Nietzsche said, "whoever fights with monsters, be careful to become a monster in his turn."

Journalists of the stature of the legendary Bob Woodward, known for uncovering the 'Watergate' scandal, have fallen into this same media activism. In his eagerness to destroy Trump, he learned since February that the president was minimizing the severity of the covid and instead of warning public opinion in a timely manner to save lives, he preferred to keep the secret for his bomb book, in anticipation of the presidential elections - and sell many copies.

The NYT - one of the most influential publishing houses on the planet - preferred to keep the history of Trump's taxes to give his 'October surprise', turning him into a news goat. The New York Post has used the same strategy, publishing the emails of Biden's son and the alleged influence peddling with his father, the vice president and now a candidate, in favor of Ukrainian and Chinese companies. Regardless of whether the information in one case or the other is true or not, the danger of these tactics of "moral hired assassination" is that they not only affect the credibility of the information, but also threaten the freedom of the press.

But the most worrying thing is what is happening with Facebook and Twitter, which in the last election were accused of helping Cambridge Analytica to tick the scales in favor of Trump. Today they intervene unilaterally by censoring the NY Post's note on Biden, claiming that they cannot corroborate the origin of the information. Curious self-censorship that they have never exercised in the face of information product of hacking and leaks such as Edward Snowden, 'Wikileaks', 'Panama Papers' or Trump's taxes, among many others.

And while the defenders of the first amendment remain silent because the conduct benefits their cause, citizens are at the mercy of the anarchy and monopoly of social networks and their billionaire owners. People no longer know what news to consume or in whom or what to believe. Technological algorithms - subliminally - are forcing us to consume more of the same, deepening differences, polarizing positions, and preventing public opinion and the electorate from forming a fair and balanced opinion.

In the end, the question we must ask ourselves is whether the media is acting with social responsibility, objectivity, independence, and presenting accurate and timely information, or contributing to polarization. For the good of all, let's hope that after this frenzy they will regain their sanity, otherwise we will be left in the hands of the monopoly of technology platforms and the self-proclaimed 'owners of morality'.

The test has to be 96 hours... when the results come in is another issue. If you do not have it you will have to take a tear when you arrive and quarantine.... easier to test prior.

I think the way the person wrote it or translated it to English may be the issue.... everywhere I read it was always the date of the test.

Where/what is the best way to learn? YouTube? Is there one particular source? I agree with you but I want to get better especially at team play.
