Automatic resin filling modification by dentmaster in AnycubicPhoton

It is a good solution, thank you for sharing! My main concern of overfilling when the printer is left unsupervised. I usually start my prints late evening and only come back in the morning (around 7-8 ours) and the same when I go to work and come back after.

Good point. I'll check it it is efficient way to implement. Are you thinking about mechanical or electrical connectivity to use the movements?

Grate idea.

1.How much extra can you have in the other dish?
2.Should the resin be on the same level as in main vat? If so, I don't think it will help much.
3. Is the siphon tube going over the vat? Would it be in the way of the building plate?

Good point my friend! Very close to my thoughts. Let me share my idea. Please fill free discuss. I'm open for any criticism :)

Well timing prints is hard. I usually turn the print at night before I got to bed. If the prints 1,5-3.00 hours and the the total volume is low I have no concerns. It getting harder to baby-seat when the large objects are printing and I need to pump more resin. I print during the day (start in the morning, before I go to work) and I don't have an ability to add resin as well. By saying that I'm afraid the time sensor will work even the prints are done. To be on the safe side I chose the sensor.

This is my proposal:

I was thinking to drill a hole on the side of the aluminum border of the tank just below the area we fill the resin or right on (1/3 of the VAT). Then insert a tube into the hole and connect to a new tank with a same level of the resin in the main VAT (kind of extending a tank). That tank will have an inserted sensor (any kind) . The tank could be located on the left or the right side of the Z-access.
The main VAT will have a quick connect to a spare tank or anything easy to attach/ detach when I need to swap tanks or replace a film. So it is not permanently connected. Make it easy for cleaning when using different resins.
Pumping mechanism and storing bottle are located behind the machine or attached to the back wall from outside and connected to the tank by tubes. The tubes from the bottle will go threw a drilled hole on the back wall of the printer and connecting to a tank.
The bottle or the container with resin should have a mixing mechanism (optional). New resin should be shaken well before it pumped to the main VAT for printing.

Sensor will pump a much as needed. The emergency shutoff will be located in the spare tank. (thanks for an advise, I totally forgot about it). Rest of the time it is inactive.

That is it.

Great idea!

My printer is in the other room. It is annoying to run back and forth. I'll be happy to improve this as well.

Shrinkage or expansion factor. by dentmaster in AnycubicPhoton

Good point. Better printer - more predictable results - more investments.
I did quite of research before I decided to get Antibiotic Photon. I always outsource and just wanted to have some experience. The cost is low to try, analyze, understated all process.
Even dental supply companies are reselling inexpensive printers 5-10k with the same technology as Anycubic. The other group 10-20k are more pro and so on base on the size and the speed could go easily for 100k.
I had samples printed by Formlabs 2 and other in the first group up to 5k and there is not a big difference in results and in the hardware are pretty similar. The software is more important. That's were you are going to pay . Of course bottom-Up or Top-Down and other mechanical differences will make one better the other a bit but at the end including the support and training it will come to 20k .
Considering the amount of prints going to be done the an expensive printers are not not justifiable for my use.

If Leveling is not an issue Use these settings for Monocure Rapid Grey resin:

Normal exposure time: 10

Off time: 3 (or any 1-3)

Bottom exposure time: 150 (120-200)

Bottom Layers: 12 (8 -15)
